Friend to Friend

I used my new oval nestibilities on this card, they were my Valentine gift a little early. The papers are Rose Red and Kiwi Kiss with Raspberry Tart designer paper. The sentiment didn't photograph very well but says "friend to friend". I am going to send this card to a dear friend I had not heard from in over a year until yesterday and she sent me a beautiful bookmark she had made. She lives in my hometown of Cumberland, Kentucky and I moved from there in 1986 and only go back once a year. There is never enough time to see all the people I want to see. We were in a group of ladies who got together once a month to talk and play cards and when I moved away it was harder to say good-by to them than to my own family. We have moved many times since then to several states and I have yet to find a group of ladies like those, we raised our kids together and worked out any problems we had knowing anything shared in our group would stay there. Miss you girls!

Valentine Treat Holder/SHARES

This treat holder is like the ones I made at Christmas and gave to the girls teachers as gifts. I was able to fit a gift card and some candy in them, but they could also hold small gifts such as jewelery. I used the Top Note Sizzix die which is a Stampin' Up exclusive die and the stamp set, A Little Somethin, which is a level 2 hostess set. I stamped the heart on pixie pink paper and embossed it with red embossing powder. I cut off a small red paper sack and sandwiched it between two top note die cuts. Hope you like it!

If you want to take advantage of the paper and ribbon shares (details below in previous post) get in touch with me by Sunday. I will be ordering round one on Sunday so don't miss out. I need one more person for the paper option number one and two more for ribbon option number three. This is a good deal, don't miss out!

Love, Always

My parents were married December 27, 1951 and my dad left on Jan. 2, 1952 to fight in the Korean War. They are both in Heaven now but I always get joy from looking at the love letters they wrote to each other while he was gone to war. They both always ended their letters the same, "Love Always" and they did. My mom died in 1981 of cancer and my dad never got over losing her. He died in 2003 and we all agreed that finally he was happy again because he was with her. I have preserved those letters in a scrapbook and I know I am going to cry every time I get them out but sometimes I just need to see them.

I knew as soon as the stamp set "Always" came out that I had to have it but I haven't used it near enough. The hearts on this card are from that set and I love all the detail they already have but I added some white with my gel pen to jazz them a little more.

I love you

Brrrr! It's cold outside, we got a lot of ice overnight and are due snow today. No school for the kids today nor tomorrow. I actually got more done today than normal because I didn't have to make 3 school runs nor 2 dance class runs.
I usually have an idea of where I am going with a card when I start but not the case today. I just started with the colors I wanted to use and this is what I ended up with. Hope you like it.

Crazy for Cupcakes

This is a card I made for my sister who is having a birthday soon, I don't think she checks my blog but if she does she will get her birthday wishes early.

I used the Stampin' Up set, Crazy for Cupcakes, which I have had for some time but haven't used much. The paper is Georgia Peach, Old Olive, and Pixie Pink.

Sale-a-bration

Sale-a-bration starts February 1 and I can't wait. The stamps in this years catalog are awesome and they have even included a ribbon bundle with So Saffron and Certainly Celery ribbon in it. These two colors scream Spring which is something else I can't wait for. If you need a brochure, get in touch with me so I can get one to you. Starting Sunday (after my Valentine camps are over) make sure you come back to see how I used the sets in the Sale-a-bration brochure.

Hugs and Kisses

I can't seem to get rested after my busy weekend, I'm not sure but I may be getting "old". It sure feels like it. Anyhow, for today I have another Valentine using the set, A Happy Heart. I used Rose Red and Pink Pirouette this time, I like this color combo. I also used a Martha Stewart border punch.

Urban Jamm 2009

Wow!! What a wonderful weekend we had in Chicago. My girls both dance and this past weekend they danced in Chicago at a dance convention. It is put on by a dance company from LA and the instructors are all professional dancers in Hollywood. There is 2 days of classes mostly in jazz, hip hop, tap and jazz funk. They have to audition at the end for awards. My Sadie is usually a little shy and hardly dances at all at recital but she got over all that this weekend. She danced her little butt off. My Shelby is 10 and has taken dance classes for 8 years and won an award last year but this year the competition was a little stiffer but that's just part of it. We had an awesome time and of course we had to go to the American Girl Place and get a new doll.

Oh, I could go on and on but as not to bore you on to the card. I finally got my back ordered items. This card was made with the set, A Happy Heart, which I really like. I stamped the dandelion image three times, once with the blowing hearts not inked. I used real red, baja breeze and whisper white card stock, baja breeze designer paper, and real red taffeta ribbon. Click on the image to enlarge, I accidentally chose a small size for my picture.

On this card I used three of the stamps from the set but it has three more that are just as fun and I'm working on a card using them.

Bella Blossoms

I love this stamp set but haven't used it much at all. It had got shoved to the back of my shelf and forgotten as had the Tangerine Tango paper and ink. I decided today to get some older sets out and play with them before all the new stuff gets here. The new catalog is awesome and I know I will end up ordering too many new sets.
For this card, I stamped the flower twice and cut out the center part and popped it up with dimensionals. I will be out of town for the next 4 days and will not have access to a computer so will not be posting. My girls are dancing in Chicago and with the temperatures there I am really dreading the cold.

Punchy

Aren't these two adorable! They are part of a class I will be having for kids. The monkey is actually a pouch that holds a treat. The penguin is going to be attached to a card. Still to come are an owl, a frog, and a heart pouch. I'll show you more tomorrow. I got the idea from a blog, Stamping with Heather. These were easy and fun to do. Thanks for stopping by.

A Tree for All Seasons

This is a desk calendar we made at my stamp camp last week. It is the size of an A1 greeting card 51/2 x 41/4. Each side is decorated with a different season and has 3 months of calendar on it. The holes in front are where I tied a ribbon so that it won't slide when stood up. I used the stamp set A Tree for All Seasons and coordinating papers. I've see these on several blogs as well as Splitcoasters so I don't know who came up with the idea.

I got my new Stampin' Up catalog and it is awesome. I have already told my husband we are going to have to take a second mortgage on the house because I want everything in it. He said it already looks like I am seeing the UPS guy because he stops by everyday.

Snowman

I saw this idea on a blog, Stamping with Sheryl, and thought I would try it. I really like how it turned out. I used a paper towel tube and covered it with regular copy paper, the brim of the hat is cut with a scallop nestibilities. It was easy to do and I will probably add the rest of the family later.

Hearts

Very simple card for today, just embossing, piercing and a punch. My sweet Sadie got hold of my piercer so for this card I had to use a push pin, worked okay but she is still in trouble! Hope you have a relaxing weekend and have time to stamp something pretty.

Dream a Little

This card was made using a set that will be in the new 2009 Stampin' Up catalog. I love the hummingbird and the flower is a two step stamp. I used rose red card stock, I just realized how often I am using that color lately. I also used designer paper from the Sweet Always collection. Hope you like it!

Happy Heart Day

Maybe my new stamps will be here soon and I can use another set although I do like this one, Happy Heart Day. I used the Top Note and cut it in 3 different colors and then cut and pieced the different patterns. I used some different colors on this one as well: pretty in pink, real red, and a designer paper from Reminisce. I colored the heart with copic #R29 and added the heart brad from the Paper Company. Hope you like it.

OCC Challenge

This is a card I did for a challenge at Our Creative Corner. It has lots of layers and was fun to do. Sometimes when I am stuck a template really helps me pull a card together. You can see the template here.

Just Buzzin' By

I think this set is so cute! I had several ideas to try for this card and none of them worked. I wanted to put a slider in behind the bee hive with the sentiment on it but the first time I pulled it out, it broke so I stamped the sentiment at the bottom and it didn't stamp very well so I covered it with card stock. Anyway, here it is although I am not real pleased with it. I did get to use my new nestibilities though and I really like these. These can be used with the Big Shot which makes it handy.
This set is call "Just Buzzin By" and will be new in the Spring catalog. It has 8 stamps: 3 different bees(each with a little attitude of their own), the hive, a honey pot, a flower, and two sentiments(just buzzin by to say...have a honey of a day).
I used my new Georgia Peach designer paper and some watercolor paper for this card.

Happy New Year

Hope you are having a wonderful New Year and that 2009 is the best year yet!

This is a card I made for a shoebox swap I am going to later today. It is very simple but I liked it. I used the Stampin' Up set, Love You Much. The colors are pink pirouette and Riding Hood Red. The love birds were paper pieced using Candy Lane paper which is hard to see in this terrible photo, I have tried all day to get a good picture and the overcast skies aren't allowing it.
