Flight of the Butterfly

I have had this stamp set for a long time but this is the first time I have inked it up, I don't why because it is really very pretty. I used a new DP, Cottage Wall, which is one of my favorites in the new catalog. I really need the new butterfly punch from SU, for this one I punched with a Martha Stewart butterfly which is much smaller, I hope to get the SU one soon but my wish list is larger than my purse so it may be a while. The colors are Old Olive and Orchid Opulence. I am actually at the beach but I did manage to get a few posts done before I left.

Hello Baby

Good Morning! Today's project is a baby card using a recent sketch at Splitcoast. I have seen a lot of cards with the bottom edge rounded lately so I decided to try it.  The scalloped edge on the green piece was made using the SU punch, eyelet border. I cut the daisy's with the Big Shot and the Daisy #2 die. The sentiment is from the set Teeny Tiny Wishes which I love because it has 24 sentiments that cover about everything. This card will also be my August Card Kit, it is very versatile and could be used for almost any occasion. In the kit you will get all the pieces already prepped (cut, punched, die cut, and embossed) to make the card, the only thing you won't get is a stamped image but this card could be stamped with about any sentiment you already have. You will get enough materials to make 5 cards for $10.00. Just email me and choose your color scheme and I will send a Paypal invoice or you can pay by check or money order.
ps. I will be on vacation starting August 1-11 so no kits will go out during this time but I will be checking and answering emails so contact me if you need to order anything.

Merry Christmas

I am having a lot of fun with "Christmas in July". I may even have my cards made early and actually get them sent out before December 23 this year. I used the flower from the set Season of Joy and stamped it twice for each flower, cut them out and layered, and popped them up. The sentiment is also popped up. The paper is retired and I am not sure what it was called. The base is Riding Hood Red, which is also retired. Thanks for stopping by!

Season of Joy

I had a Christmas in July stamp camp on Saturday and another one today and this is one of the cards we made. I have used this stamp set a lot and was glad it made it back in the current catalog. The DP is retired but the ribbon is new and I really like it, it is the perfect width at 3/4 inches. I will probably use it in gift wrapping at Christmas. I broke my glasses last night and I am "so blind" without them, I am propping them on my face which has given me a terrible headache. I am off to see the eye doctor as soon as they open.
ps. The sentiment is from the stamp set, Teeny Tiny Wishes, you have got to get this one. It has 24 stamps and includes every holiday and other things from graduation to retirement.

Fancy Favor box

Good morning! I don't know if you can tell from the picture, but this cute project is done with the Fancy Favor bag (a Stampin' Up exclusive die), two of them to be exact. I didn't crease the side fold lines and slid one over the other to form a box with lid, you could probably make it a little taller by just sliding the top one down less if you needed more room for the contents. I don't know where I got this paper, I have been trying to use up some of my stash and this didn't have the name of the line on it.

Shelby and Dalton

Here are two of the reasons I am so tired all the time, Shelby and Dalton....I keep him at least two nights a week and do I ever feel my age the next day. Shelby is a lot of help , she can change a diaper now and she feeds him sometimes. He is one month old and weighs 10 1/2 pounds already. They grow too fast! Sadie sits in a chair and holds him but I have to be beside her, she gets tired of him fast and once just got up and dumped him off her lap onto the sofa like he was one of her Bitty Babies! He is for sure a well loved little boy!

Cardinal Christmas

I really liked this stamp set when it was in the Holiday Mini last year but didn't get it so I was glad it made into the new catalog. I am having a "Christmas in July" stamp camp Saturday and if you are in my area, come on by, I have done a lot of Christmas projects this week. The pine cone is from the stamp set, Autumn Days. The DP is called Merry Moments. I stamped the cardinal in Basic Black and colored it in with Real Red and YoYo Yellow, the plants are colored in with Old Olive.

Fall Thank You

I haven't been blogging much lately, it seems I have no time for anything but keeping the road hot with Swim Team, trips to the doctor(I am having some inner ear problems), and getting school physicals and eye exams for the girls, holding my precious little bay boy Dalton, and whatever else comes along! Here is a card which I cased almost completely from Stamp with Heather. The photograph is terrible I know, we have had nothing but cloudy skies for several days and today it is raining so I get terrible pictures. Hope to get back to posting more often now that swim team and Bible school are over. Thanks for stopping by.

Fancy Favor

Isn't this little bag cute! It was made from a Stampin' Up exclusive Sizzix die. It is so easy to make and I can think of lots of occasions to make favors for, weddings, birthdays, holidays, and small gifts will fit in it as well. I used Merry Moments DP for this one. I meant to add a little ribbon and maybe a tag but needed to get something posted so I will have to that later. This week has been a bit hectic here with Bible School going on and the new baby. I am hoping to have more time to stamp next week as there isn't much on my calendar so far. Thanks for stopping by!

A Special Thank You

It seems like forever since I posted anything, we took a trip to visit family in Eastern Kentucky. It is always good to go but we are always happy to be home too. For today I have a card to share, I have a particular person in mind to give it to so my design was based around something elegant since that is what I think when I think of her. I used my crimper to make the black background for the Real Red Top Note. I run the Top Note through with the Finial Press Impressions folder from Stampin Up. I love both the new Embossing folders and had to get them with my first order. I put a piece of trim across the middle that I found in a box of swatches and fabrics that I found at my Dad's house after he died about 5 years ago. It must have belonged to my Mom so I only use it sparingly and on special projects. I really liked how this turned out, it is much prettier in real life. Have a wonderful day!

ps. I got a sneak peak of the SU Holiday Mini today, I will have to sell a kidney for sure because I want EVERYHING in it. It is awesome!!

Be Happy

The sketch for this card was from a challenge on Splitcoast. I bought some cute cupcake brads at Archivers the the other day and knew I wanted to use them with this retired stamp set called Darling dots, I just never got to it before the set retired. The Dp is from Doodlebug design and I paper pieced each cupcake. The background layers are Melon Mambo and Soft Suede. I stamped the cupcakes in Certainly Celery, YoYo Yellow, Mambo Melon, and Bermuda Bay. The card base is larger than I usually work with, it is 5.25 x 5.25. Hope you like it.

Thinking of You

Good morning. My project today features the Level 3 hostess set Kind and Caring Thoughts. This set is very versatile with sentiments for get well, best wishes, birthday, thank you, and thinking of you, as well as some pretty florals. For this card, I used the "stamping off" technique(I inked the stamp once and stamped 3 times to get varying shades of the same image). The central element is actually done with the Top Note Die, I ran it through and then turned it 180 degrees and run it through again. The Dp is Razzleberry Lemonade.

Thanks a Bunch

Good afternoon, I hope you had a wonderful July 4 holiday. I was so busy last week with all the things the kids are involved in and then Toy, my husband, joined a softball team at church so that is one more thing to add to the schedule. Oh well, I would probably be bored if we didn't stay busy. The only bad part is that it takes away from my stamping time.
I needed some thank-you's so I made a quick and simple set using the new In-colors but guess what I forgot to order...the Soft Seude polka dot ribbon...I have it ordered now and it should be here Wednesday. By the way, scroll down to see the details on my ribbon and paper shares. If you are intersted in any of these, contact me at dls8383@gmail.com . I also have a special offer going on with a $100.00 order for free shipping and taxes. Thanks to Sharon and Ina for their email orders, they have been submitted and I will send you an email with delivery dates as soon as I get them.
