You're Invited

I have had a terrible time today with my camera, I dropped it and broke the piece that covers the batteries. For the last month I have been able to tape it shut and it worked just fine but today it would not stay together. So I took my photograph while trying to hold the clasp shut, focus, and push the button, not a good combination and not a good photo. Oh well, guess it is time for a new camera. Today's cards are more wedding or wedding shower cards. The DP is from the Simply Scrappin Guest Book collection and the hearts are made using the Heart to Heart embosslit. Remember if you need something for a wedding such as invitations, thank yous, favor boxes, ect. send me an email and I would be glad to send you some samples to look at and give you a quote.

Make sure you check back tomorrow to see what I came up with for my first project as part of the P3 design team as well as what the other ladies made. Thanks for dropping by!

Today is the BIG Day!

This is my first challenge as part of the design team for the Paper Cubed(P3) Challenge Blog. It was to make a Shadow Box and I decided to go with a CAS design. Since I am doing bedroom makeovers for the girls, I decided to make something they could use in their rooms. Shelby has a bird theme going on so this is for her. I used the Large Bird Punch, punched the wing out in So Saffron and black so that I could make it into a finch. Now my degree in college was Biology and my favorite class was Ornithology(study of birds) so I have had a lot of time watching birds and identifying them for class. I love this punch and hope to find time soon to make a few more species.

Here is a closeup of the bird on a branch and he is on the second of the three layers to the shadow box.

Here is a close up of Momma Bird in the nest with her eggs and she is on the first layer of the shadow box as is the fence.

Go check out the blogs of the rest of the P3 gang..they have some awesome creations for you
You can order from the Summer Mini today! I will be placing an order late today so email me with your order. You can email me at dls8383@gmail.com .

i Love

What do you do with leftovers..those little scraps of paper that you just hate to throw away..turn them into 3x3 cards! Now I know this doesn't look like a 3x3 card and it isn't. The panel that says i Love is a 3x3 that I made a couple weeks ago intending to use it with a gift but changed my mind. It was still laying on my desk so I decided to use it to make a full card. You can cut the back part off but for this one I just glued it shut and then and even popped it up to get more dimension. Hope you like it!

Happy Birthday

Good afternoon! Today's card is for my sister Wanda who turns 53 on April 30, I used the exact same layout as yesterdays card for my brother but dressed it up a bit. Wanda is the glittery, dressy, lots of bling type person so she will appreciate the Smooch Spritz on the panel with the flowers. It doesn't show up very well in the photo but it has a lot of sparkle to it IRL. I used some retired paper, Haiku, I am trying to use up my stash of retired stuff before the new catalog gets here in July so I can justify buying more! The flowers and leaves are from the stamp set, Awash with Flowers which is available for purchase right now and will be in the new catalog as well.

Baby Dalton has kept me busy today, he is everywhere! I have baby gates up so I have him isolated just to the living room which he has taken over. His bed as well as a small bureau and changing table are all in there. There is an excersaucer and tons of toys. Today the phone rang and I went to answer it secure in the knowledge there was nothing he could get into. This is what I came back to after being gone about 3 minutes, everything stored under the changing table was strewn all over the floor.

Don't let this innocent little look fool you, he is BAD!

And off to jail he goes!

Favorite Brother

Good afternoon, it has taken me all day to get into my stamping room. I have baby Dalton for the next 2 days, his parents are out of town so not much time for stamping. My brother has a birthday the 28th and my sister has one on the 30th so today's card is for my brother Jeff. Jeff is the only boy and there are 4 girls so we all refer to him as our "favorite brother" but he fails to see the humor in it. I struggle with masculine cards but this was an easy one. I pulled out a sheet of Baja Breeze that I have been hoarding since come July we can order all we want! The DP is Parisian Breeze which is retired but I thought I better use it up since SU will probably have another delicious DP to go with my favorite Baja Breeze very soon. Thanks for stopping by!

Blissful Bride

Do you ever take a photo and you can't believe the color results...this one is so not the real life card...the ribbon is the same color as the mat for the cake IRL and the scallop oval was cut from the same piece as the mat for the cake. I tried editing but couldn't change it that much. I guess I am going to have to take a class to get better photos! Anyway, this is the last of the wedding shower invitations I have been working on. I used the stamp set Blissful Bride from the Summer Mini and the Bride paper. Thanks for stopping by!

A Little Bit of Magic/MOJO Monday

Good Morning! I have a sneak peak for you today from the Summer Mini, this is the smallest of two fairies in the set. My girls are so into fairies right now so I know I will use this set in scrap booking as well as card making. They like to read the Rainbow Fairy books and love Tinkerbell. Last summer when we went to Disney World, I think my favorite was Tinkerbell and I know it was theirs. I used paper from the Sweet Pea pad and the card stock is Pretty in Pink and Rose Red. I used Dazzling Diamonds on the wings, you can see it a little better if you click on the photo to enlarge it. The design was from a MOJO Monday challenge. thanks for dropping by!

Happy Graduation

Hello! Today I have a graduation card to share. We have several youth in our church who will be graduating this year and our school colors are purple/black/white so I will be making several cards over the next few weeks. I love the set Go Graduate which will be available May 1. I knew I had to have this set when I saw this stamp, my youngest son, Seth, wore hot pink high top tennis shoes to his kindergarten graduation. Actually he wore them every day of kindergarten so there was no doubt that he would wear them for graduation. I dressed him in the cutest little summer suit with a jacket, white shirt, tie, shorts and of course the dirty pink high tops. His kindergarten teacher said no explanation necessary! For this card, I also used the newest embossing folder also available May 1.

I Do

Good afternoon! Today I have another wedding card. I got the template from Lynn Pratt at her Stamp-N-Design blog. This is another one that I will be sending to my friend Nancy, Nikki's colors are Taken with Teal and Pixie Pink so I thought I would make a card and put those colors in.

Elements of Style

I love this stamp set! It is from the Summer Mini which starts May 1 and it is awesome! I have seen some that have been colored in but I chose to leave it uncolored and I have to say it is beautiful both ways. I also used the Summer Lattice embossing folder for the background. The color of the mat is Elegant Eggplant but it looks more like black. It is hard to get it to show up in a photograph but I also used another new product, Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz which gives it a bit more dimension as well as a litter glimmer. You can see it a little better by clicking on the photo to enlarge it. Very pretty in person!

With a Cherry on Top

Hi, hope you are having a good day! I found the idea for this on Flowerbug's blog and had to make it. This is one of the cards we made this morning in Technique class. I used the Square Lattice embossing folder for the bowl, the ice cream scoops are made with the 3/4 inch circle punch and the topping is made with a pinch off the the scalloped circle punch. The banana is made from the large oval. The DP is from the Island Oasis available May 1 from the Summer Mini. If you are one of my regular customers you will get a copy of the Summer Mini in the mail from me soon, if you don't let me know.

FYI

Good morning, sorry for the terrible photo. Too lazy to retake it, actually very busy day planned! I used a new embossing folder that will be available in the Summer Mini called Square Lattice and of course my new favorite DP, Island Oasis. I used the flower from Bella Blooms and the sentiment from FYI.

You Are Awesome

I have a Spring card for you today. I love every piece of the the Sweet Pea paper pad but I think this piece of Chocolate Chip with Pretty in Pink and So Saffron flowers is my favorite. This DP was my starting point for the card, it also has a Certainly Celery flower image in the background so that is how I decided my color palette. I used the Beautiful Wings embosslit and a couple of Spellbinders as well as the FYI stamp set for my sentiment. I don't use ribbon very often because I struggle with tying a pretty bow so I have been practicing but I haven't perfected it yet.

I want to say a huge thank you to Nancy Riley for choosing one of my projects as one of her iPicks this week. She is an amazing stamper and I love her work as well as her blog. Go check her out here

Stamp a Stack Preview

Good morning, hope you had a wonderful weekend! Ours was sun filled, just what we have been waiting for. The girls got to play outside and got rid of tons of energy! Today I have a SNEAK PEAK, this is one of the cards we will make at my All Occasion Stamp a Stack on April 24th. It is also a sneak peak at some of the DP paper that will be available in the Summer Mini which will start May 1. It is called Island Oasis and to be honest I was not too fond of it at first, it has a luau theme to it and at first I thought it wasn't something I would use. But I absolutely love this card which uses 4 different patterns from the 6 double sided designs. The card stock colors which coordinate with it are Temping Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, Rose Red, and Old Olive, these are all in the striped piece at the bottom. The stamp set I used for this card is Birthday Bliss. I also pulled out my arrow punch and I must admit this is the first time I have used it. This is one of the designs from an online class I did by Heather Summers.

If you are interested in coming to my All Occasion Stamp a Stack, it will be on April 24th starting at 11:00. We will make 10 cards and the fee is $15.00. You can choose from a wide assortment of sentiments and make cards that work for you. If you register before April 16, you will get materials to make 2 additional cards. I am also offering this as a mail out, I will send you the pre-cut materials to make the cards minus the stamped images for an additional $2.00 to cover postage.

Good morning! Today I have a clean and simple (CAS) design for you. The stamp is from the set, Friends 24/7. I used DP from the Sweet Pea paper pad, Pumpkin Pie, and Whisper White card stock.

I wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone who sent me an email about yesterday's post, I am so glad you like it and I appreciate all your comments. Also, THANKS to all who ordered the Daisy Embellishment. I will work on these today and hopefully get them all mailed out tomorrow. Make sure you check tomorrow to see the headbands to match the flip flops!

Daisy Flip Flops

My girls can't wait to break out the Flip Flops on the first day the sun shines in Spring. We pulled out the ones left from last summer and of course they are all too little, s0 I went to Walmart yesterday but they didn't have anything but plain ones out yet. I bought several colors and brought them home and spiced them up a bit. I used the Daisy #2 die for this pair, the girls loved them! I just bought a variety pack of craft foam but you could use felt or fabric. Wouldn't these look cute done in all white for the flower girls in a summer wedding!

And of course, I couldn't just stop at one pair! The shoes only cost $3.00 but with the embellishment they look much more expensive.

Wow! I just posted this less than 30 minutes ago and have already had a request, THANK YOU Susan! Yes, I would be glad to make the Daisy embellishment and mail them to you. For those who don't have a Big Shot or don't have this die, just tell me the colors you want, I will cut them out for you, stack and glue them together. When you get them in the mail all you have to do is hot glue them to your flip flops! The price will be $4.00 for 2 embellishments which will include shipping.

Good Morning

Good morning and a good morning it has been! Today I have a quick post, I have to take Shelby to the doctor to get staples out of her foot. Sadie pushed the door of the Hotel open and it caught Shelby's foot so we had to go to the ER for staples while we were on vacation, the FUN never ends with those two. I punched the flower out with the Extra Large Fancy Flower punch and the center is punched with one of the flowers from Boho Blossom. The stem is from the stamp set Sweetheart. I think the DP is Pink Flamingo and a red satin bow.

Remember to pray for the families of the coal miners in West Virginia, this is very close to where I grew up. If you have a loved one who works in the coal mines, you never go through a day that you don't worry about this happening. Hard to imagine the agony that whole town is going through.

Retiring Colors

Ok, here is a list I came up with that will be retiring. Just a reminder, any Designer Paper or Simply Scrappin kits with any of these colors in it will retire as well.

Glorious Green, Green Galore, Gable Green, Yo Yo Yellow, Only Orange, Pink Passion, Pixie Pink, Orchid Opulence, Lovely Lilac, Brilliant Blue, Close To Cocoa, Creamy Caramel, Really Rust, Ruby Red, Cameo Coral, Summer Sun, Pale Plum, Blush Blossom, Apricot appeal, Barely Banana, Mellow Moss, Almost Amethyst, Lavender Lace, Bordering Blue, Brocade Blue, Ballet Blue, Taken With Teal, Handsome Hunter.

Color Renovation

Stampin' Up told us a couple days ago that they would reveal a huge announcement today! They are renovating our colors! They are retiring a lot of colors, bringing back some retired In Colors and adding new In Colors in the new catalog in July. Some other good news concerning the In Colors is that they will stay around for 2 years instead of one. I told you guys a while back that they had told us not to get rid of the previous In colors and they kept their promise of bringing the favorite ones back, Pink Pirouette, Baja Breeze, Tangerine Tango, River Rock, and soft Suede just to name a few. Now, I know this may not sound so good to some people, I myself am wondering about what this will do to my stamping budget but if I know SU they are going to make this as easy as possible for everyone. I will have to add to my stash as my budget permits and I will continue to use retired items until I run out because they are still going to coordinate with the new colors.
This also means that the retiring items will probably sell out quick so if you have favorites you probably should stock up now. I plan on buying the reinkers of my favorite colors for sure. I will try to get a list made of the retiring colors and be back a little later with that.

Cute as a Button

Do you ever have days when everything seems to go wrong? Well today is that day for me! My husband is out of town and I don't sleep well when he is gone so my bad day really started last night. He took my car so I am driving his truck which I really dislike driving because it is hard for me to maneuver. I dropped the girls off at school this morning and decided to go grocery shopping. I locked the truck door when I got out not knowing he has a different key to unlock the door other than the ignition key which he must have forgotten to give to me. I bought a lot of frozen items since we eat convenient meals when he is away not knowing I would spend 2 hours in the parking lot in 75 degree weather trying to get into the the truck. I finally get into the truck thanks to a very kind gentleman and brought my now thawed items home. I thought I really need to get a project made to post here so I got started. I couldn't find my paper trimmer anywhere, I had taken it with me on vacation so I think it has to be in the trunk of the car which is in Indianapolis. So on to plan B, I had made some 3x3 cards a couple weeks ago and had some card stock already cut so this is what I came up with using die cuts and punches. I used the Daisy die and square punches and Playground buttons. I think I will go to Walmart and buy me another paper trimmer today but I for sure won't lock the car door!

Vacation is Over

Good morning! I am back from vacation and rested but after I catch up from being so behind I will need another vacation. I had planned on keeping on top of things even though I was away but that didn't work out to well, I could not get any Internet service nor cell phone service where we were. The mountains were beautiful but they block the satellites that deliver these services especially if you aren't a subscriber to the area providers. I have placed all the orders that came in by email and have answered most of the other emails. I will ship out the purse order today, thanks Sarah hope you little girls enjoy them.

A couple things I want to point out, the Clearance Rack and the Two-Step into Spring Promotions going on right now. There are links to these on my Sidebar. If you would like to take advantage of these offers let me know. Hopefully I will be back later today with a project to show you, my husband is leaving this afternoon to go on a business trip so I have to get him ready and my own mountain of laundry awaits!
