Friends

It's Friday! I have had a super busy week with running the kids here, there, and everywhere but today I have declared a stay at home do nothing day. I have a card today that has a hidden bookmark, I have seen several versions of this around and it is so easy to make. I used all new colors, Cherry Cobbler, Marina Mist, and Daffodil Delight. The stamp set is Vintage Vogue and the flower is a Sizzlet Flower. I made the bookmark using the Bigz Two Tag die. The ribbon is Marina Mist and Daffodil Delight.

Happy 4th of July

Good morning! Today I have a card featuring the stamp set Red, White, and Blue from the Summer Mini. I don't usually send 4th of July cards but I do usually make 4th of July scrapbook pages so I bought this stamp set for that reason. But I do like how the card turned out, I used Cherry Cobbler as the base and the retiring Brilliant Blue as the second layer. The stars are stamped with Whisper White ink. The scallop rectangle was made using a new die from the upcoming catalog called a Clearlit. It allows you see where you are positioning the die before you cut, it also leaves an embossed area around the outside much like a Spellbinders die does, I really like it and hope more of these are coming. The ribbon is Ridding Hood Red. Hope you like it!

Don't forget just a few days left to order from the Retiring List!

Enjoy the Journey

Happy Hump Day, hope you having a good week! Today I used the MOJO Monday sketch for this week to make my card. I made two attempts to color the bicycle in and messed them up so I just left it as it is, I am ok with it, actually think it makes it more of the focal point. The stamp set is called Pedalling Past and is from the Summer Mini. I used paper from the Sweet Pea paper pad which is retired and the brads are from my stash, they reminded me of the spokes on the wheels.

God's Opinion

Good Monday Morning! Summertime is definitely here, we are supposed to have high 90's all week. I said back in the winter that I wouldn't complain and I'm not complaining just thankful for air conditioning. I found a new challenge at Embellish Magazine and decided to try it put. The challenge was to make a baby card(one of my favorite cards to make) using the colors peach, yellow, green, and cream. I used Very Vanilla, Peach Parfait, and Pear Pizazz(makes me want ice cream:) card stock and So Saffron DSP. The baby onsie is from the stamp set Baby Bundle and the sentiment is from Occasional Quotes both available in the new catalog on July 1. I also used the new scallop circle punch.

Happy Father's Day!

Hope you are having a wonderful day and if you are lucky enough to spend it with your father count it as a blessing! My husband had to work today so we are going to celebrate with him tomorrow and since Friday was Baby Dalton's birthday we are having a birthday party as well. I used the Sweet Sunday Sketch for my design today, easy way out! The stamp set is from the Summer mini and is called King of the Grill. It is a great set to use for those hard to make masculine sets but if you want it you only have until August 30 to get it since it didn't make it to the new catalog. I used more retired DSP but can't remember the name of it, I used Marina Mist card stock which really matched it well. The background is the yummy Crumb Cake. Hope you like it!

Congratulations!

Good morning! I have been absent for several days, the modem on my computer must have taken a lightning strike. Glad it was just the modem and not the entire computer like it was last year. Anyway, here is a baby card for today using a new set from the upcoming catalog called Baby Bundle. I love that little baby peeking out of the stroller! I am so looking forward to the new catalog and the new colors, my favorite returning color is Pink Pirouette and my favorite new color is Early Espresso. We weren't allowed to order Pink Pirouette yet but I had hoarded just a few pieces so I pulled them out for this card. I don't know the name of the DSP, I have sooo much retired paper and I am trying to use some of it up before the new catalog. Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a great weekend!

Sweet Sunday Sketch

It is good to be home, I love to get away but I am always glad to be home except for the mountain of laundry that awaits me. Today I have a card using the Sweet Sunday Sketch. I used some new DSP called Greenhouse Gala and Pear Pizazz card stock. The sentiment is from the stamp set Occasional Quotes and will be available in the new catalog.

A big THANK YOU to those who ordered while I was away, they are entered in the drawing for a $50.00 SU gift certificate. It isn't too late, you have until the end of the month, for every $50.00 before taxes and shipping your name is added to the hat! It would be a good time to get those retiring items before it is too late, many of them are already sold out. Thanks to Jayne, Gloria, Caren, and Bettye so far!!!!

Hey, What's up?

Good morning! Today I have the last card in the Birthday Set I have been sharing. This one is my favorite mostly because when my youngest son was little he loved Steggie so much. He carried little toy dinosaurs in his hands all the time. When I would carry him to bed at night, I would take them out of his hands and put them under his pillow so he would know where to find them when he woke up. His son, Dalton, loves to carry around two empty Tombow glue bottles. He comes into my craft room and the only thing he bothers is the glue bottles.

Just Chillin!

Hello, hope you are having a good weekend! We are at my husbands family reunion which is an 8 hour drive(sometimes 10 depending on how baby Dalton does). Today I have the 3rd card in a set I showed you here. These were so fun to make and I know 3 little boys who are going to enjoy giving them to friends for birthdays. I made up a couple extra sets while I was making these if anyone is interested in purchasing them, just shoot me an email for the details. I used mostly retired stuff on this but I do need to use it up since the new catalog will start July 1. Hope you like it!

Homemade and to Die For

I got my Sneak Peak order!!!! The new catalog is certainly to die for! I love the new colors, the new stamps, the new ribbons, the new buttons, and everything about it. I was a little disappointed that we really didn't get any new Bigz or XL dies but that means I already have all the ones in the catalog and now can concentrate on all the new stamp sets! Lookie what I made today...a cupcake box! I love how it turned out, but I forgot to photograph the inside. On the inside is a platform with a circle cut out to hold the cupcake. This box is 4x4x4 so it will hold a big cupcake or muffin. I used the single stamp Homemade. The DSP is Greenhouse Gala and I used Early Espresso, Pear Pizazz, and Marina Mist card stock. We have a new scallop circle punch which is 2 3/8 inches and this along with the scallop circle die is what I used to make the flower on top of the box.

I know I said I was going to post the other two dinosaur cards today but they will have to wait until tomorrow. I have also linked this project up at the Paper Cubed blog so go check out all the gorgeous treat holders there.

Dinosaur Birthday

Good morning! Today I am sharing a cute little treat container for a little boy's birthday party. Make that 3 little boys, the Whitaker triplets. Meredith, their grandmother saw the dinosaur birthday card I posted last week and emailed and asked what else I could come up with using a dinosaur theme. The boys go to a lot of birthday parties and are having one of their own soon so I made this little set up for her. The card box holds 6 cards and envelopes. I have shown you two of the cards here and here. I will show the other two tomorrow.

I am also using the treat container for two other challenges, Stacy's Curtain Call and the Paper Cubed blog. I am on the Design Team for Paper Cubed and the challenge for this month is treat containers. You can participate by making something and linking it on the blog. You could win a prize!

Teacher Thank You

Today I have a cute card that was inspired by Heather Summers, of course I had to change it up a bit to make it my own. If you haven't taken one of her On-line classes, you have certainly missed out on her amazing talent. I used some retiring papers so if you like this you better grab the Brilliant Blue and Summer Sun before they are gone. If you don't have a demonstrator, I would be happy to place an order for you and for every $50.00 order for the rest of June I am offering an incentive...for details you have to email me at dls8383@gmail.com. OK now on to a few details about the card, I used the stamp set First Day which can be used in so many ways. It will work great for scrap booking, teacher appreciation cards, gift card sets for teachers, treat containers for teachers, and even labeling your child's own books. I have a mini scrapbook using this set in the works, I still have to add pictures. The "thank you" is from the stamp set Teen Tiny Wishes. Thanks for stopping by!

Inspired by Nature

Good afternoon! Blogger has been down since yesterday and I lost all the comments since then:( I always reciprocate any comments left on my blog so if you left one recently and I didn't visit your blog and comment it is because I didn't get it. OK, the card I have for today was inspired by this photo taken in my back yard. I used more retired papers, I have been using up a lot of retired or retiring things to make room for the new items I have coming this week!

Sweet Sunday Celebration

Hope you are having a good weekend, we have had a beautiful day today:) I made this card for the Sweet Sunday Sketch #72. This was the first time I had inked up my Sweet Scoops stamps. These stamps would be perfect for making invitations to an ice cream social. I might have to have one just so I can make the invitations! I used the Bigz Two Tags die and the Boho Blossoms punch and retired Sweet Pea papers. Click on the link above and check out all the fabulous cards made using this sketch.

Long Time, No See

Good evening! I had a few minutes to spare today and made a card for the MOJO Monday sketch challenge. For the challenge this week you could make a round or square card. I am really trying to use up some of the retired paper I have in my stash. This pack of paper has one piece out of the whole pack that has been cut on, that is terrible! This pattern looks very busy to me but I used it anyway. I combined two stamp sets, the owl is from Animal Stories and the giraffe and sentiment are from It's the Thought. Hope you like it!

Smile, Birthday Boy

Good morning! Another busy day ahead with swim team, basketball camp, library summer reading program, bike ride with SonShine Shop, and whatever else crops up. I did manage to make a quick card early this morning before everybody woke up. I had this paper out from the one I made yesterday so went with that again. I stamped the dinosaur with a retired SU set called Prehistoric Pals. The palm leaf paper is from Island Oasis papers found in the Summer
Mini and the card base is Night of Navy. The sentiment is a rub on from Chat Room.

Vintage Wedding

Good evening! I had scheduled a few posts ahead since my busy schedule with the girls has started and had forgotten that I need to post my project for the PaperCubed(P3) blog today. The challenge for the Design Team this month was to make a treat container and since I am working on my second wedding I thought I would use something from that. The lady for whom this is for gave me permission to show this but I have to wait to show you the rest of it for now. This is to be one of the gifts she will be giving to her bridesmaids, she is going to fill it with handmade candies. I used the Fancy Favor die and the stamp set Vintage Vogue. She is using a vintage theme for her wedding decorations, even down to her gown which has been in the family close to 80 years! It has a lot of bead work on it so a lot of the things I am making for her will involve beads.

Please visit the P3 blog to see what the rest of the DT came up with and then make sure to make a project of your own and link it there. The prize this time is awesome!

Silly Boy

Good morning! I have been cleaning some in my craft room and found this paper that my sweet son chad bought for me. It is a pad with coordinating papers and embellishments. I made this card for my friend's son who is turning 4 soon and who loves dinosaurs. The card is made with Night of Navy which is becoming one of my favorite colors. Of course today is the big day, as a demonstrator I get to pre-order from the new catalog starting today and that means I will have the NEW colors very soon. I used the Sweet Sunday Sketch # 71 for this card, you should go check out all the amazing cards made with this sketch!
