En Francais Dasher

Good evening! Hope your weekend was good, I had a wonderful weekend. I went to Shelbyville on Saturday and stamped with a group of wonderful ladies. They have been on-line customers for over a year and we finally got to meet and stamp together and it was so much fun. Thank you Angie, Liz, and Connie(sorry you couldn't make it Jayne) for such a good experience.

Today I have a couple cards using the same materials and layout just different orientations. I first stamped En Francais background onto Very Vanilla and then stamped Dasher. The DSP is from the Jolly Holiday collection and I used Old Olive and Rose Red card stock along with Old Olive grosgrain ribbon.

Today I have a Christmas card made with the stamp set A Cute Christmas and Candy Cane Specialty DSP both of which are from the Holiday Mini. The Specialty paper has glitter on one side of each of the 12 sheets and coordinates with the Candy Cane fabric. I used some Pretty in Pink taffeta ribbon and a strip of Candy Cane Christmas fabric . I added some Dazzling Diamonds to the cute little snowman but it is hard to see it in the photo. Thanks for stopping by!

Pumpkin Greeting

Hope you had a wonderful weekend, mine was too short! This is going to be a super busy week so I have prepared some scheduled posts for you and hopefully they will post as scheduled. Today I have a cute little card from the stamp set Greeting Card Kids, love this set. I used some DSP from the Bright Collection along with Pear Pizazz and Concord Crush(I know it looks black in the photo but IRL it kinda matches her dress and hat). I got a smudge on the oval after I had spent all that time coloring everything so I added the leaves to cover it up. Thanks for dropping by!

Purse Class

Just a quick post to remind you that tomorrow(Saturday at 1:00) is the date for the Purse Class. We will make this purse plus the one you can see here as well as one more I haven't shown you yet. These are all 3 from a tutorial I purchased from Becky Roberts. All three purses are so pretty yet so easy to make, you can choose your color and whatever DSP I have in stock! I used some retired paper from the Simply Scrappin kit, Guest Book for mine. Not too late to come since you will be doing all the cutting, just show up!

OOPs! This post was scheduled for Friday but apparently didn't post until Saturday. Sorry!

Baby Vampire

Good afternoon! Don't you think this little "baby" vampire is the cutest! This stamp comes from a set in the Holiday Mini called Fang-tastic and also has a cute little witch as well as 8 other stamps. I got the idea for this project here, this is actually a little holder for the mini antibacterial gels from Bath and Body. These would make cute little non-candy treats for Halloween. The DSP is Wicked Fun Specialty Paper and I used a MS punch for the corner. I stamped the sentiment on the word window punch but it didn't show up because it was too light, I used Pear Pizazz. Thanks for stopping by!

Here is the item # for Party This Way 118744(wood mount) $15.95 and 120609 (clear mount) $11.95. Celebrations DSP...117164 $9.95. Click here to order! Thanks for stopping by.

Christmas SAS

Good afternoon! School started today for my girls, Summer has been too short but it will be good to get back into a routine again. Today I have a Christmas card using Deck the Halls DSP from the Holiday Mini. The ornament is from the stamp set Tags til Christmas and it is stamped in Cherry Cobbler and has some teeny tiny pearls on. If you haven't tried the pearls from our new catalog yet, you are in for a treat and that Crochet Trim is so pretty I want to put it on everything. This may be one of the cards for my Christmas SAS on August 26, is you haven't RSVP'd yet there is still time. If you live too far away to attend, you can always order the kit. Thanks for stopping by!

Bargello Thank You

Good Sunday morning! The rain woke me me up early so I decided to get a jump on the morning, I am usually running so behind on Sunday mornings getting everyone ready for church so maybe today we will be on time. I am sharing one of the cards we made from yesterday's technique class. This card uses a technique called Bargello which is a mathematical method used for creating patterns in making tapestries. I didn't used any math in my card, just lined up some stripes to get a different pattern but it was a fun and different card to make. The DSP is from the Nursery Suite collection. Hope you like it, thanks for stopping by.

A Tisket, a Tasket....

Good morning! Do you like my little basket? I think it so cute, I cased it from here. The flowers are made from the scallop circle and various circle punches stacked together and scrunched. I used paper from the Candy cane Christmas DSP that will be available in the Holiday Mini starting September 1. The card stock colors are Real Red, Blushing Bride, and Baja Breeze.

I also wanted to mention a few dates for classes during August. I am having a Technique class tomorrow at 1:00, a purse class on August 21, and a Christmas Stamp a Stack on august 26. If you live in the area of Harrisburg and would like to join in the fun or get more info about future classes or clubs please contact me. Don't forget about the Hostess promotion that is going on until August 31, to book a workshop call me at 618-841-3568 or email me at dls8383@gmail.com, I don't mind driving as far as 3 hours to come to you!

O Christmas Tree

Good morning! I just love how this project turned out! This was made using the directions on the project sheet included with the fabric bundle that will be available in the Holiday Mini. They called it a coaster but I made it into a Christmas ornament. Each year I decorate a tree with hand made ornaments, most of them are fabric ornaments. This was very easy, cut out 2 scallop squares of fabric and one from batting, sew the layers together with our linen thread, cut the tree with the pennant die and sew it to the scallop square, add ribbon for the trunk, and a button to the top. I will be making several more of these for sure. Let me know if you want to see more fabric projects by leaving a comment or by emailing me at dls8383@gmail.com.

Little Lambs

Good afternoon! Hope you are having a wonderful week, mine is busy getting ready for school to start. Today I am sharing the cards I made for two children in our church who accepted Christ as their Savior during VBS a few weeks ago. I love the greeting, "God has BIG plans for you!"(click on photo to enlarge). I bought this set for the little lamb stamp because we have a playgroup called Little Lambs and I thought it would work great as a tag for treat bags for that group. I will have another fabric project tomorrow so make sure you stop by to see it.

SU has Fabric!!!!

I am so excited that Stampin' Up is selling fabric and it coordinates with our colors and papers! The Holiday Mini will have two choices of fabric available in extra long fat quarters(I think they are four inches longer than the usual size). These fabrics don't have a Christmas or holiday theme but they do coordinate with the holiday papers but could be used for any time of the year. The medallion on my card was made from fabric so you don't have to sew to use fabric either. I cut a one inch piece of fabric and folded it it half length wise, cut a 1 3/4 circle from our sticky sheets and started winding and twisting from the center out until I covered the circle, pierced a whole in the middle and added a brad. It was so easy and I love the WOW it gave this card. In each bundle of fabric you will get a project sheet with directions for making several fabric projects. Can't wait to show these to you.

Just Believe

Good morning! First off let me apologize for this terrible photo, it is actually the best of at least 20. It must be the color combination that just isn't photographing well. I used Concord Crush, Pear Crush, and Very Vanilla. did you notice that beautiful Crochet Trim, it is so scrumptious! The stamp set is one we got at convention called Just Believe, my new favorite! Gotta run, busy schedule today with check-ups for the girls and my hubby may be home today. He has been on the Appalachian Trail back-packing, that was his trip since he stayed home with the girls while I went to Convention. According to the girls he is the BEST daddy in the world (he took them out to eat everyday while I was gone plus a trip to WalMart to buy Silly Bands):)

just a little note...

Good evening! Today I am sharing the note cards I made for my friend Judith who is a school teacher. I posted the cards I made for her yesterday but these are a CAS design using just one sheet of paper rather than a card. I used the stamp set Apple Blossom which is a 2nd level Hostess Set. The DSP is retired. I packaged 8 cards and envelopes inside a clear box. Thanks for stopping by.

Greeting Card Kids

Good evening! Hope your day has been cool(in a weather related way!), we have had a blistery hot day with heat index reaching 110 degrees. Don't you just love these kids in this stamp set! I made a bunch of these for my friend Judith who is a teacher in Virginia. I made her some cards last year and she ran out just before school ended for the summer so she asked me to make more. She teaches 7th grade and has always given a hand written card and a candy treat to each student who makes 100% on their chapter tests. She said she thought about not doing it last year but evidently word had gotten around and when she failed to give them out after the first test, her students reminded her! I made her 30 of this design and then some simpler ones which I will show you tomorrow. I used Old Olive for the base, then a layer of Pacific Point, followed by Pacific Point and Real Red DSP patterned paper. The scallop circles were cut with the Circle Scallop # 2 die and the A+ image is from the First Day stamp set. Thanks for stopping by!

Every Princess Dreams of Her Own Castle

Hello! It's time for the August Paper Cubed Challenge! This month we were to make a picture holder and it couldn't be a frame, why was that so hard for me? I thought and thought on what to make and then I found this cute castle stamp at a local craft store and knew I wanted to make it in to something for Sadie's room. I stamped it four times and colored it in with Copics and then cut each piece out. I used a paper mache' cube which I covered in some pink girly paper to adhere the castle pieces to. The castle is really very sparkly, it just doesn't show up well in the photo. I used some shimmer paint mixed with alcohol to spray on it after I colored it. I also added some jewels which are a new item in the SU catalog, love them! The picture of Sadie is one taken last Fall, she was tired at this point in the photo shoot so she sat down while Shelby was being photographed and the photographer just happened to turn around and caught this perfect photo. Make sure you check out the projects by the rest of the Design Team, here are their links:
