Angels Among Us

Good afternoon! For several years I have made the angels for the Angel Tree at our church using the same die but this year we decided to change it up a little. We have to have it big enough to write the person's information on the back so I made the gown long enough for that. I used Bride Specialty DSP which is retired but a good way to use it up. The halo is made using a 1 1/2 inch circle punch and a 1 1/4 circle punch and Brushed Gold paper. The hair is Yo-Yo Yellow(retired) made with a scallop circle that I cut down and folded. The face is a 1 inch circle of Blush Blossom card stock, also retired.  Thanks for stopping by!

Good evening!  Do you ever have a day when you work hard all day and can't really tell you have accomplished very much?  Well, that has been my day...everything I have started has taken longer than expected or been interrupted so many times I finally gave up.  I did manage to get this card photographed but couldn't edit it for some reason.  I saw this idea for the poinsettia on Lynn Pratt's blog and loved it so I had to give it a try.  I used the leaf from the stamp set, French Foliage and stamped it in Very Vanilla craft ink onto Cherry Cobbler paper.   The base is Always Artichoke and the ribbon is seam binding in Always Artichoke.   Thanks for stopping by.

Thanks So Much

Good afternoon! Today I have a thank you card to share, I never seem to have one when I need one so I made a bunch of these to keep on hand. I used the stamp set French Foliage for the leaves and the So Many Thanks stamp from the a la carte section of the catalog. The DSP is from the Specialty Autumn Spice collection and is from the Holiday Mini. The card stock is Cajun Craze which is a color I have neglected to use very much but is perfect for Fall and Thanksgiving cards.

Make sure you click on the icon on my sidebar to check out the Holiday Bundles from Stampin' Up.  Also don't forget about the Special Offer I have going if you join my team this month.  You can get more info about this here.  Hurry because time is running out!

Booglie Eyes

Good afternoon! Today I have a few of the party favors for Sadie's Halloween birthday party. The ones with the owl are made by filling skinny bags with Skittles and then making the topper with the Owl Punch and the 1 3/4 scallop circle punch. I have the owls made but not attached to all the bags yet. For the ones in the front, I used Pretzel bags and cut them down a little. These are the Peppermint Patty candies and I used the stamp set, Booglie Eyes.  Thanks for stopping by!

Santa Treats

Happy Monday! I feel like it has been forever since I posted here and soooo much has happened. First off, my trip to Birmingham was WONDERFUL!!! I was so touched by so many things while there, God started a new work in me and filled me to the brim with anticipation of all the new ideas and ways to bring His word to our children at church and in the home. We got to hear dynamic speakers, teachers, and musicians from morning till night every day. I never felt tired the whole time I was gone but it hit me like a ton of bricks when I got home and had to fall immediately back into the craziness of everyday life not to mention the mountain of laundry. My husband did an awesome job with everything but he knows I don't allow him to do laundry.

I did find a few minutes this weekend to work on some Christmas treats which the girls will hand out to teachers and school helpers, Shelby always wants to include every person who works at her school so these treats are perfect because they are quick and easy to make. I just love this Santa from the stamp set Jolly Old Saint Nick from the Holiday Mini. The snowman is cute to but I haven't inked him up yet. I used DSP from the Jolly Holiday collection to wrap the nuggets  and Old Olive scalloped squares for the bag topper. I will probably add a sentiment later, just didn't get to that yet.

Merry Snowflakes

Good morning! Isn't this card beautiful!! The picture doesn't do it justice, the Top Note is embossed and sponged , and raised up on dimensionals. The center is cut out and inside are two layers of window sheets which have been stamped on with snowflake stamps in white ink. Again, I don't who gave this to me. If you know who made this card send me an email so I can give them credit. Thanks for stopping by!

Elements of Style

Good morning! First I have to brag a little about my FANTASTIC husband. When I told him I had been asked if I would attend this convention, I told him that I had said no because of the children. I just didn't want to leave him with the girls and all the things that have to be done to get them ready for school and to all the things they do such as gymnastics, basketball practice, extra band practice, soccer practice, soccer games, not to mention all the homework each night. He immediately told me to call them back and tell them I would go. I think this was the sweetest thing he could possibly do, because I do need a little break sometimes and living so far from any of our family makes it even harder to get that break. Isn't he WONDERFUL!!

Ok, on to today's swap...This card was made by Diana Keith and I just love it! She used the stamp set Elements of Style with Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla card stock. The ink colors are Soft Suede, So Saffron, Old Olive, and Pumpkin Pie. She used the Square lattice embossing folder and sponged over it with Soft Suede. Thanks for stopping by!

Let it Snow

I thought since I am out of town this would be a good time to share some of the swaps I received at Convention. This one didn't have a name on it so I don't know who to give credit to but it was one of my favorites. I love the icicles made with glitter and the big snowflake at the bottom is punched out and has a snowflake stamped on the inside with a jewel in it. Thanks for stopping by!

Vintage Christmas

Happy Saturday to you! Sorry I haven't posted much lately, life is very busy for me right now. I am trying to get ready for some upcoming events as well as being gone most of next week. I am so excited about leaving for Birmingham, Alabama on Monday for a few days. The Children's Minister from our church and I are going to a Kids Ministry Conference put on by Lifeway. I hope to have a little free time while I am there since I worked in Birmingham for 5 years and know a lot of people there but according to the schedule we will be going from 8:30 am to 10:30 pm almost every day.

Ok, on to my card for today. This is one of the cards we made last week at my Christmas Stamp a Stack which was a huge success, not only did we use everything I had prepared but I also sold 12 of my kits for this month(they are cut and will be mailed Monday!).  I love these papers from the Deck the Hall collection and add Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, and Always Artichoke and it makes a beautiful combination. I also used brads from the Vintage Trinkets and of course the bird.

Christmas Ornaments

Good evening! What a busy and fun weekend we had celebrating 4 birthdays! We celebrated mine which was last Sunday, Shelby's which was Oct. 3, Sadie' s which was today, and Heather's which will be Oct 19. It was wonderful spending time with my girls.

Today I have the ornaments I made to go in the acetate box I showed you last time. I got the idea from a magazine SU demonstrators get called Stampin' Success. The ones in the magazine used this same punch but were glued onto a styrofoam ball and pearls added randomly. I had a hard time getting the glue to stick so tried straight pins and love the look they give. I used the flower punch from the Itty Bitty punch pack and the papers are from the Guest Book collection which are retired. I thought these ornaments would look good on a tree or just in a pretty bowl as a centerpiece. I also did one in the shape of a tree and used the circle from the same punch set, I will show it to you when I get it completed.    Thanks for stopping by!

Acetate Papercubed Challenge

Good evening! It is time for another Papercubed(P3) challenge and this month it was to use acetate. I made this box using the Fancy Favor die.  I plan to use it to package some beautiful handmade ornaments for Christmas. I will show you the ornaments tomorrow. This is made by cutting 2 boxes, one in acetate and one from card stock. They will barely fit, but if you turn the card stock one upside down they slide one onto the other. The acetate is embossed but it doesn't show very well in the photo. I also cut and embossed the butterflies in both card stock and acetate. Make sure you check out all the other fabulous creations from the rest of the Design Team over at the P3 blog.
