Tree Trimmings

Good evening!  Today I have a Christmas card to share, my first of the year.  I used some retired DSP along with Old Olive, Garden Green, Very Vanilla, and Early Espresso card stock.  It is hard to tell but the Early Espresso ornament is embossed with clear embossing powder and popped up on a dimensional. There is also a little bling on this card, tiny rhinestones.  This is one of the five cards we made for the Christmas in July SAS.  Thanks for stopping by!

Delicate Doilies

Good afternoon!  I had planned to show you a Christmas in July project but had forgotten about this card so you will have to wait another day.  This card was made using the set Delicate Doilies which I stamped in Calypso coral, Lucky Limeade, and Pool Party.  I added a  Lucky Limeade ruffled ribbon and a brad.  Very simple one layer card but I really like how it turned out.

I do have 2 shares left of the ruffled ribbon if you are interested. Thanks for stopping by!

One Fine Day

Good afternoon!  Today I have another scrapbook page, this photo was taken several years ago but I found it while organizing my photos and knew exactly what I wanted to do with it.  I still have to find some photos to complete the second page but at least I have got it started.  It has taken me a while to get started back into scrap booking but I am so glad I have although I sit and cry sometimes while looking through my photos, my girls are growing way too fast and it is scary.

I hope to share some of the cards from my upcoming Christmas in July tomorrow.  Thanks for stopping by!

Garden of the Gods

Good afternoon!  Seems like forever since I have blogged, but I have been super busy with VBS and my classes.  I had my first crop since I moved my craft room and it was a huge success.  I am planning to do a
crop at least twice a month so if you didn't make it to the first one and would like to get on my email list let me know.  I also had a Scrapbook class on Saturday and this is two of the pages we did.  Garden of the Gods is a local attraction here in Southern Illinois and is an  absolutely beautiful place.  We try to go there several times a year and I always take tons of photos.  I used some of the extra photos to make the border on these two pages and love the effect.  They are  only 1/2 inch circles but really show a lot of detail.

This is Sadie sitting at my desk pretending to be me...it was so funny...I overheard her giving details about this stamp set and didn't realize how "I" sound sometimes.  When I "see" myself through my children's eyes it makes me very conscious of my reflection, I pray it is always good.

Mocha Morning

No, I haven't quit blogging but I have been frantically preparing for VBS.  It kinda sneaked up on me so I spent all of last week getting everything cut and ready to go.  I teach crafts to the 4th, 5th, and 6th graders and I prepared around 60 kits for each day.  I really enjoy VBS but I think I will start earlier next year.  I did manage to stamp a little in last week and this is one of the projects I did as part of a custom order.  I love this new Mocha Morning Specialty paper, several sheets are flocked and it is gorgeous.  I made these for a friend who makes jewelery and wanted some boxes made with matching cards.  I made three different designs but this was my favorite.

Now I have to show you what Dalton has been up to.  I thought he was very quiet so I went to check on him and this is what I found.

He had climbed up in a chair in my classroom and dumped out about 6 containers of brads and was playing in them.  Since the damage was already done, I sneaked out and got my camera.  When he noticed me taking pictures he looked up at me, smiled a huge smile,  and said  "pretty".

I did have to agree, all the colors mixed together were "pretty"!

Thanks for stopping by.

Birthday Wishes

Good evening!  Today I have a birthday card using some Love Letter and News Print DSP which are both retired.  I am trying to use up some of the papers from the last catalog to make room for the new ones. My mom used to make us pinwheels out of old newspaper so  I had to use the Newsprint for the pinwheel on this card. My mom had such a unique way of taking next to nothing and entertaining us for the whole day.  She used to cut us paper dolls from grocery sacks and we would color their faces and add clothes from pages of magazines.  I actually tried this with my girls once and they were all excited about it while we were making it but the excitement only lasted a little while and  then they were off to play with Barbies.  I guess those were the "good ole days" and good they were!

Comfort and Joy

Good Sunday afternoon, hope you are having a great weekend.  Today I have a Guest Stamper, Christine is in one of my Technique Groups.  A few nights ago at our meeting I had 3 projects ready and they could make those or choose something I had on display.  Chris chose to take parts of one of the cards I had prepared and make it into this gorgeous Christmas card.  I loved it and had to share it with you!  It is hard to see but she put rhinestones on several of the music notes.  Thanks for stopping by.

Birthday Train

Good afternoon!   Today I have a project that I made for a friend's little boys birthday party.  Andrew loves trains so I am made these as party favors, each child will get a segment to take home filled with party loot.  I cut the train using the Cricut and then built a box to hold the treat and sandwiched it between two train cut outs.   These are 5 inches tall and are adorable all lined up. I also made the party invitations which I will share tomorrow.  The card stock colors are Basic Black, Poppy Parade, Pear Pizazz, and Pacific Pointe.  Thanks for stopping by!

Kite Birthday Bag

Good afternoon!  Today I have a gift bag to show you, I saw this idea in the catalog and knew I had to make one.  Mine is a little different, I used In Colors and various embossing folders for the kite and cut butterflies with the butterfly punch for the tail.  I fastened the butterflies to the ribbon with brads.  I will definitely be making more of these since they are so quick, easy, and have the  Wow factor!
