Book Tree

Good afternoon!  Today I have a tree to share with you made from an old paperback book.  It was a bit time consuming but very easy.  I removed the front and back covers, left the spine attached, and folded each sheet in toward the middle.  I sprayed it with a bit of glitter spray but it is hard to see in the photo and added a few die cut snowflakes.  Thanks for stopping by!

School Picture Ornament

Good morning!  Today's project is a cute Christmas ornament using your child's school photo.  I saw this on Pinterest and knew I had to dig out a few prior school photos, this one is from last year.  I used the chipboard that comes as a backing in our DSP packs and a layer of card stock on each side of that.  I cut my card stock to just fit the crayons and then hot glued them down.  You could put the year on them so you will remember when the photo was taken or I just put 2nd grade.  Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Mittens

Good morning!  I have been making a lot of  Christmas cards this week in preparation for my biggest craft show of the year. I haven't used the Mitten builder punch very much so I pulled it out for this card.  The DSP is from the Festival of Prints Paper Stack available in the Holiday Mini and the card stock colors are Lucky Limeade and Cherry Cobbler.

I also have a photo of my Sadie to share.  Sadie loves being outside riding her bike and when I went to check on her yesterday, I found her playing under a huge Pine tree in the yard.  She had gathered a big pile of pine needles which she said she was going to use to make bird nests and put them in the tree.  I didn't have the heart to tell her the birds wouldn't use her nests but preferred to build their own.

Perfecly Preserved Birthday

Good morning!  Today I have a CAS birthday card to share.  I love quick cards and this one was certainly that.  I found a piece of Very Vanilla card stock that was already scalloped when I was cleaning up my work area, so I built this whole card around leftovers from other cards.  The cherries are from Perfectly Preserved and not sure what the DSP is.  Thanks for stopping by!

Blue Ribbon

Good monday morning!  Today I have a birthday card to share.  I used the stamp set, Blue Ribbon, another one of those sets I bought as soon as it was available but just now getting to use it.  I also used the World Spectacular DSP which is featured on page 31 of the Idea Book and Catalog.  I love the color combinations in this collection of papers and  I will have a few more projects to share with you soon.

We finally made it to the Pumpkin Patch this weekend and it was very enjoyable. We are having such beautiful Fall weather here in southern Illinois and the leaves are pretty. I do get homesick for my mountain home during Fall so getting outdoors makes it a little easier. I have a couple photos of the kiddos(well, at least two of the kiddos, the teenager isn't in to Pumpkin Patches or photos these days) to share as well.

Gratitude

Good afternoon! Today's project is one of the choices from my Cannery class.  I love giving little gifts to teachers at school and church to show appreciation for all they do for my kids and since Mason jar gifts are so popular now I will be giving this.  The Mason jar has Trail mix in it and the topper is made with Orchard Harvest fabric.  The DSP on this project is from the Orchard Harvest collection and the card stock colors are Island Indigo, Gumball green, More Mustard and Whisper White. Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Halloween

Good morning!  Today I have a couple Halloween projects to share, a card and a little box to put a few treats in.  I love the Howlstooth and Scraingbone DSP and since it isn't necessarily for Halloween you will probably see much more of it after Halloween.  Gotta run, I am working on my class for tomorrow which is the Cannery Class using the Perfectly Preserved stamp set and the matching Framelit dies.  Thanks for stopping by!

Grab Your Broom

Good morning!  Today I have a  Halloween project to share with you, I have seen these all over the Internet so not sure who came up with it but is so cute.  There are a number of videos around as well, just google Utube and then coffee filter witch's broom and you can make one for yourself.  The broomstick is actually a Tootsie Roll Pop and I used a black Sharpie marker to color it.  These are so easy that I think this is what my Trick or Treaters will get on Halloween.

Christmas Blessings

Good morning!  I am totally refreshed after my FULL day yesterday(it didn't stop after I posted yesterday, but I won't bore you with the details), it is amazing what a few hours of sleep will do.  Today's card was made with some leftovers from a card class I had recently.  It is so CAS that I may just use this design for the cards I make to send this year.  The stamps used were Bells and Boughs and More Merry Messages and the card stock colors are Real Red, Gumball Green, and Very Vanilla.  Thanks for stopping by!

ps....I am taking orders for Christmas cards, in fact I had two yesterday so if I usually make yours and you want them again this year, please let me know ASAP as I  am limiting the # of orders I take on this year.  I like to have them made by the first week of December.  Prices will be the same as last year, if you want a price list you can email me.

Warm Winter Wishes

Good morning!  It is hard to imagine that it is still morning, I have been up for so long.  I did three loads of laundry, fixed breakfast,  got the girls up and got them ready for school, took Sadie to school and Shelby to orthodontist, dropped Shelby off at her school, then Shelby's school called so I had to come back to school to sign her in since I forgot to call to say she would be late, as I was walking into Shelby's school Sadie's school called to say she had a headache, went home to get Tylenol and take it to Sadie at school.  It is only 10:00 and I feel like I need a nap but I guess I will have to settle for lots of caffeine.

I know, you came to see a project.... this is one of the cards we did last week in Punch class.  I saw a version of the hat on Pinterest but I guess I didn't pin it because I couldn't find it to link back to it.  It is made with the cuff from the stocking punch and the oval punch.

Snow Festival

Good Monday morning!  Have you paid close attention to the Snow Festival DSP in the Holiday Mini?  I hadn't and to be honest it was not one that really appealed to me but I pulled it out determined to make something.  There is one sheet that is divided into 12 blocks with a different scene on each block so I cut it all apart and made some tags and they turned out so cute.  On the back of each one I added a 3x3 piece of card stock and stamped To and From.

I also made this very CAS Christmas card.  I have  my biggest craft show of the year coming up in November so I made lots of these.  Thanks for stopping by!

Ornament or Gift Tag?

Good Friday morning!  It has been a super busy week and I am glad it is Friday.  Of course, there are so many things on my list for the weekend I will probably look forward to Monday.  There is one event scheduled for this weekend which is something I think every mom looks forward to and that is the baptism of one of their children.  My Sadie came to know Jesus as her Lord and Savior a few weeks ago and will be baptized on Sunday, it brings tears to my eyes just typing this so I know there will be tears Sunday, for joy of course.

Okay, enough about me and mine...on to my project.  I saw these ornaments on Kay Kalthoff''s Stamping to Share blog and had to make some.  They are made with the Designer Rosette Die which really cuts down on the amount of time it takes to make them since it not only cuts but scores the paper.  I punched out a circle for the back and stamped to and from on them so they could be used for a gift tag but I like them just as an ornament too. Thanks for stopping by!

Googly Ghouls

Good morning!  Today I have some quick and simple treat bags for Halloween, these take longer to fill the candy bags than to make.  I used the Ghoulish Googlies kit from the Holiday Mini, the kit contains the bags, the tags(with part of the stamping already done), and the Pumpkin Pie Baker's twine.  I  put my candy corn in a separate bag and then put the bag in the glassine bag.  I folded the top over and closed the bag with some clips I had in my stash.  You can also purchase the bundle
which includes the stamp set, Googly Ghouls, plus the kit which is what I used to finish my tags with.

I have a picture of Sadie I took this morning before school.  For those who know Sadie, you know that she is a little "fashionista".  This is the outfit she put together this morning.  She was a little worried that since the school has a no hat policy if her hair barrette which is a hat would be ok but she took a chance and wore it.  You can click on the photo to en large and see the hat better.  thanks for stopping by!

Bootiful Occasions

Good morning!  Today I have a cute Halloween card to share, I love the sentiment.  I think I will give this one to my Sadie sine she loves to shake her "booty".  She loves to turn the music up and dance, thankfully her room is upstairs so the loud music doesn't bother anyone too much.  This stamp set is called Bootiful Occasions and has a boot for Winter, Halloween, a rain boot, and a cowboy-girl boot.  Thanks for stopping by!

Cool Cats

Good morning!  Today I have a couple Halloween cards to share using the Frightening Feline stamp.  This was definitely on of my favorites when the new catalog came out and was on my first order.  I have got busy with other things and haven't used it much so I pulled it out yesterday. Thanks for stopping by!

Boo Banner

Good Monday morning!  I love making and displaying banners.  I made two of these, one for the mantle above my fireplace and one for my craft area.  The letter were cut using the Timeless Type sizzlit dies and framed with the Labels Framelit dies.  the DSP is from Howlstooth and Scaringbone collection.  I always cut the banner pieces using the chipboard that comes as backing in the DSP packages first and then layer the DSP on top to make it more durable.

I have to share a cute photo of Dalton I took Sunday morning(he sleeps in Sadie's bed and that is the reason for all the "pink" ).  He looked so cute!

Affection Collection

Good afternoon!  Today I have a card that I made for a friend who is getting married in December, I know it is hard to believe I am actually early since I usually have to apologize for being late.  I bought this set, Affection Collection, from the Holiday Mini to use for Valentines but it will work for a wedding too.  Below is a view of the inside .

Yesterday was a gorgeous day here in southern Illinois.  It was also our Homecoming Parade and my Shelby is in band.  Below is a photo of the Middle School band, Shelby is in the front row, third from the left.  I am so proud of her, she is a beautiful girl on the inside and the outside.

Holiday Mini Ornament

I did it!  I finally got up the nerve to make the ornament on the front of the Holiday Mini catalog.  It is time consuming but really easy and I love how it turned out.  It is  a lot prettier IRL.  I will be having a class for these next month.  Thanks for stopping by!

Purple and White Day

Good morning!  Yesterday was Shelby's birthday and today is Sadie's.  Shelby turned 14 and Sadie is 9.  I snapped this picture this morning as they headed out to school, this is Spirit  and Homecoming Week at school so today was purple and white day.  My girls are growing up too fast to suit me, I wouldn't start over but I wish time passed a little slower.  I will be back a little later with a project.

Unity Sand

Good morning!  I recently had a friend to ask me to come up with something for a co-workers wedding to use for holding sand as part of their Unity ceremony.  Her colors were Wild Wasabi and Chocolate Chip.  I made a few samples but this is what she chose.  This is made with the Petal Cone die and the Scalloped Heart of Hearts embosslit.  Wedding items are my favorite to make.   Thanks for stpping by!

Bright Hopes

Good Monday morning!  Today I have another Christmas card using the Bright Hopes stamp set.  I love the color combination of Always Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, and Very Vanilla so I pulled out some retired DSP and came up with this card.  Very simple which is what I need right now as having time to stamp is becoming less and less.  Thanks for stopping by!
