Good Thoughts

Gorgeous Grunge is my new favorite stamp set.  This card was for my Spotlight Class featuring Perfect Pennants this month. If you a trend watcher, you may have noticed that the trend to use no or  little DSP on cards is  hot right now.  I love DSP and most of the time that is where I draw my color palette from when designing a card but I am also liking this CAS look as well.

Good Luck

Sorry for the glare on my photo, it is hard to photograph through cellophane.  I bought these rainbow Twizzlers to make a treat for St Patrick's Day but then didn't have a bag that would fit all six colors.  So, I cut them into thirds and packaged them in these bags.  I tried several bag toppers but these are the ones I like best.

I also found a larger bag in my stash so I added  a little gold to some of them.  These will probably be the ones Sadie takes to her friends at school for St. Patrick's Day.

St. Patrick's Day Treats

I don't usually make very much for St. Patrick's Day but a lot of people celebrate the holiday in a big way.  A friend asked if I would come up with a non candy treat for her kids to give to their friends.  Who doesn't like bubbles!  I love to take bubbles to the beach and sit on the balcony and watch the wind blow them away, the beach sounds so good on this cold, cold day.  I saw several versions of the leprechaun on Pinterest and put them all together to come up with my own.  The pot of gold is the same one I did in punch class once for Halloween with some gold added.

These got me motivated so I made some treats with candy as well and will share those tomorrow.

Geometrical

I have to admit I did not enjoy Geometry in High School but absolutely loved Algebra. But this Geometrical stamp set is very cute and I have a few ideas for other projects.   The small dots are made with the end of a new pencil eraser.

Here is a view of the inside of the card.  Thanks for stopping by!

Paper Pumpkin

I love February's Paper Pumpkin, it came with four heavy duty brown paper bags much like grocery bags.  Also included was some pretty embellishments and the idea sheet included was to use the printed alphabet punch outs and clothes pins to form a banner.  But.....since I need four Easter Baskets for my kiddos, I used the bags to get started.  I have three more to make and they can't be exactly alike so I will show them here as I get them made.  I used the Fringe Scissors to make my grass.  After I got this one finished, Dalton said what about my other bunny?  I didn't know what he meant so he went looking for it.  He came back with the little bunny sitting on top, I made this  for his basket last year and he knew exactly where he had put it after Easter.  It was in a closet where I store my seasonal decorations, he amazes me sometimes by how "organized" he is with his toys.  He puts his little figures in lines on a bookshelf in his room and knows immediately if one gets out of place.

Recipe:
Stamps:  Everybunny
Ink:  Black Memento, various markers
Paper:  Soft Sky, Old Olive, Whisper White card stock
Accessories:  Paper Pumpkin bag, Oval die, retired ribbon, Fringe Scissors

Perfect Pennants

This sentiment says it all, life is never perfect but you can always find something that makes it wonderful.  My  "wonderful" today is in the picture below.

This is my Dalton boy, love him so much!  I can't ever capture a photo of him, he is in  a camera shy phase but I caught him off guard this morning.

Oh, Snap!

Have you ever known someone who always says little "catchy phrases" and then you find yourself saying them?  A girl I used to work with was always coming up with something catchy so I am sure she would use Oh, Snap!  It is also a perfect phrase for this cute little punch art camera which I found  here on Pinterest.

Fringe Scissors

Have you seen all the projects done with the Fringe Scissors from the Occasions catalog?  I had fun playing with them yesterday, I can always use thank you cards so I might make a few more of these today if my bones quit hurting long enough.  We have had warmer weather the last two days and I hoped that would help with some of my bone pain but so far it hasn't.  I was up this morning at 3:30 hurting from head to toe.

Paper:  Pool Party, Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White

Peaceful Petals

I love coloring and cutting out images especially when I have something on my mind.  I have been thinking about my SIL Jeannie who passed away recently.  She and I were very close until we moved away and didn't get to see each very often.  I am going to miss her, she was a wonderful Christian lady who was always giving of herself in some way.  She was a Special Needs Teacher and I am sure she is in Heaven loving on God's special little ones.  RIP sweet Jeannie and thank you for your shining example!

Mr. And Mrs.

This card is a CASE of one I did some time ago.  After seeing it several times on Pinterest, I decided to do an updated version.  Just a few changes, I haven't added a sentiment yet because I am not sure if I will make it into a wedding or anniversary card.

Here is the original card, I made it in 2011 for a Breast Cancer fund raiser event.   Thanks for stopping by!

Love

Happy Valentine's Day!  This is the Valentine I made for my husband but I haven't given it to him yet, his sister passed away and he is leaving to go to her funeral so we will celebrate when he gets home.  It is an eight hour drive for him and I can't go, I have so much bone pain due to arthritis and can't sit for that long drive.  Thanks for stopping by!

Make a Wish

Have you seen all the cute cards done with the Envelope Punch Board?  When it was introduced I thought I wouldn't need it since I didn't really want to make my own envelopes, but....it can be used for so much more.  This file folder card is just one example, you can make boxes, treat holders and so much more.

Stamps:  Perfect Pennants
Ink:  Tangerine Tango, Baked Brown Sugar
Paper:  Tangerine Tango, Very Vanilla, and Pool Party card stock; Retro Fresh DSP

Starburst Sayings and Hardwood

I am not usually fond of background stamps, mostly because I have a hard time getting a crisp image with them.  But...I love this Hardwood stamp from the Occasions catalog.  This was my first attempt and it is lovely!

Recipe:
Stamps:  Starburst Sayings
Ink:  Baked Brown Sugar, Pool Party
Paper:  Tangerine Tango, Baked Brown Sugar card stock;Retro Fresh DSP
Accessories:  Starburst Framelit dies,Banner dies, Edgelit die, Vintage Faceted Designer buttons, Linen Thread

Sadie had to make a Valentine box for school and of course it had to be a Minion.  She used the Banner Punch for teeth, the eye is an empty button container and she wrapped a strip of Silver Foil Paper around it.  The mouth is cut out and that will be the opening for the Valentines.  She was so proud of it!

Owl Valentines

I haven't used my Milk Carton die in a very long time but when a customer wanted some Valentine treats made using it, I dusted it off and made a few.  She also requested the owl punch.

She didn't care what papers I used so I used up some retired DSP.  Thanks for stopping by!

Minion Army

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!  I didn't get a chance to post anything all weekend, we were very busy with the kids and my husband hasn't felt well so he has been unable to help with them.  I don't realize just how much he helps until he isn't able to, with a three and a four year old it takes an army to keep them going.  I made this army of minions for a customer, forty in all!  Now I have to make 25 more since this is also what Sadie is taking as her Valentine treat for her classmates.  The good thing is that they are quick and easy to make.

So Sorry

Sympathy cards are the hardest for me to make and to send but having received them when experiencing loss I know how much they mean to the recipient.  I combined two stamp sets to make this CAS card which we made at my last Stamp a Stack.

We are still out of school for weather again today, my kids are very bored.  I have managed to get several things out of the way such as hair cuts and eye appointments that are usually hard to schedule around school hours.

Recipe
Stamps:  So Sorry, Love and Sympathy
Ink:  Old Olive, Tangerine Tango
Paper:  Whisper White, Old Olive
Accessories:  Starburst, Circle, and Label Framelit dies

Happy Birthday Cupcake

This is one of the cards we made at Technique class, our technique was folds.  This fold has a little pop up section where I added the scalloped circle and the cupcake.  To hold the top flap down we added a punched cupcake on a dimensional.

I made two and reversed the DSP on this one and left off the embossing on the flap.  Thanks for stopping by!

Make a Wish

I am sooooo ready for Spring, this has been a very difficult Winter.  The kids are out of school again today.  I  have had this candle wheel since it came out but am not really fond of wheels so I unmounted it and cut it into pieces which makes it easier to get a crisp image.

Recipe:
Stamps:  Birthday Candles,Sweet Essentials
Ink:  Real Red, Old Olive, Pool Party
Paper:  Daffodil Delight, Epic Day DSP and various retired DSP
Accessories:  Banner punch, Circle Framelit

Happy Birthday to You!

I have seen these pop up box cards all over Pinterest and found the tutorial on Splitcoast.  I made it a week ago but didn't want to spoil the surprise for the person I sent it to.  She has received hers so now I can share, Happy Birthday Jamie!  Thanks for stopping by!

Baby Girl

Hope your Saturday is wonderful!  Today I have a baby girl card to share.  I am off to a busy fun filled day with the kiddos.
