Thomas the Train

Invitations done!  Now to work on party favors....I am working on two parties at once and it has been a challenge but I love doing it.  Here is the Thomas invitation which was inspired by this card.  I changed up the train part a bit, I used one of  the Project Life Cards and Labels Framelit dies which turned out to be the perfect size.  One of the standard panels I use for cards is 3x4 inches and this die works for that!  I will share the party favors soon.

Since there wasn't any place to put the party information inside the card, I made a belly band and added it to the front and back.  The card was cut with the Pop-n-Cuts die.

The other party I am working on is a Ninja Turtle party.  I am getting quite good at making these...I have made 40 now.

Project Life

Stampin up has partnered with Becky Higgins(creator of Project Life) to bring this amazing Scrapbooking series into their product line.  I got mine yesterday and it is awesome.  I have needed to catch up on scrapbooking for a while now, and with this I think it may be possible.  A lot of the work is already done with the color coordinating products and journaling starters.  Another big plus it that you know it will be good quality because SU don't sell junk!

Good Sport

Today I have a project with another retiring stamp set, Good Sport.  I was asked by the SIU Saluki girls softball to come up with a table favor for their Senior Night celebration.  They wanted the school colors which are maroon and black but the  closest SU color is Cherry Cobbler.  The yellow softball kind of clashes but that was ok with them so I got over it.

Here is 60 of them packed up and ready to go.  Now to finish up two birthday parties today and clear my agenda!

Paper Flowers

I have been working on some flowers for a class as well as working on three parties and haven't had time for much else this week.  I used various punches, dies, and fringe scissors to make these and then attached them to a gift bag.  I have some made with stems as well and will share those tomorrow. TFSB!(thanks for stopping by!)

Happy Earth Day

Happy Earth Day!  Today I have another card made with a retiring stamp set, one of my favorites, Field Flowers.  I keep my favorites and use them even after they are retired but wanted to show you this one in case you haven't got it yet.  The Retro Fresh(Occasions catalog) is retiring soon as well and it is one of my favorite DSP's that we have had in several years.  Thanks for stopping by!

Best Easter Ever!

The retirement list is posted, you can view it by going here and here.  I decided to post a card made with a couple retiring items, the Pop-n-Cuts card base die and the Zoo Review stamp set.  The rest of this post is about family if you want to check out now.

Did you have a good Easter weekend, we certainly did, it was perfect!  We had beautiful weather and lots of family time starting on Friday and going strong until late last night.  The kids had a blast. I didn't get a picture of them doing Resurrection eggs but they enjoyed it and it is such a good teaching tool.

Ava, Dalton, and Sadie died eggs.  Shelby is 15 and she has decided that none of us are "cool" and that she is too old to join in our silliness so she hung out in her room on the phone most of the weekend.

Here is the finished products.

Empty Easter baskets on the front porch awaiting the Easter Bunny(we put one out for Shelby as well).

Enjoying the treats the Easter bunny brought(before bath time and getting dressed for church).

Ready for church minus Shelby.

After church, the hunt is on!

Ava and Chad posing together.

Dalton and Seth posing together.

My oldest daughter didn't make it in time for anything except dinner since she had to work.  I managed to burn my hand early in the day while getting Resurrection Rolls out of the oven so I spent a lot of time with my hand in a bag of ice(even through church) .  My husband insisted I go to the doctor but I couldn't miss out on any of the fun.  Now, it looks as if I should of listened, it is probably going to require an antibiotic.

Oh, Snap

Today I have another card made with the Retro Fresh Journaling tags.  I decided to make a boxed set actually to give to my sister as a birthday gift.  She doesn't craft but sends out a lot of cards.

Just by adding a little DSP or card stock, you can make these tags into a pretty card.... love the simplicity.

I added, a lining to the envelopes, put them in a box, added a bow and now they are ready to go!

Retiring List

The retiring list will be available April 21st and as you know some things sell out quick.  To sweeten the deal SU is offering free shipping from April 21-25 on everything.

Thanks a Million

My favorite thing in the Occasions catalog is the Retro Fresh and the This and That collection . I ordered it all on my first order but as usual I haven't used it much lately.  I made this card with one of the Retro Fresh Designer Journaling Tags, it makes a really quick and simple card in just minutes.  Thanks for stopping by!

Simple Stems

Today I have another card with the stamp set, Simple Stems from the Occasions catalog.  The Secret Garden framelits work for these two images which always helps.  The framelits work for the bigger image and then I stamped it twice and cut out the inner parts and added dimensionals.  I really like the Calypso Coral and Pool Party color combination.

Simple Stems

Happy Monday to you!  My sister, Wanda, has a birthday coming up at the end of this month so I made this card for her.  Wanda loves bright blingy things so I chose Real red, Pool Party, and Daffodil Delight as the card stock colors.  The stamp set is Simple Stems and it just so happens I am using this set as my Spotlight Class set this month.  Thanks for stopping by!

Paper Pumpkin

Have you thought about the Paper Pumpkin kits in the mail?  I subscribed some time ago and haven't really had the the time to complete any of the kits yet.  Sadie, my 10 year old, asked if she could start getting them and she loves it.  She got her starter kit last month and this is her first card, I am so excited that she loves to stamp.  She checks the mail every day hoping her next kit is there.  Thanks for stopping by!

Baby Bunny

I love this little bunny from the stamp set Baby We've Grown.  I found these carrots at the Dollar Tree and they are filed with Kool Aide, added some cute packaging and now they are ready for the Easter baskets.  I had a fun day yesterday stamping with a brand new stamper and I have to say he is a natural.

Here he is hard at work...every time he inked up his stamp he would say, "tap, tap, tap."

He wanted to use the bunny stamp because I was using it but after a while he got bored with it and moved on to stamping and coloring a few pages of dinosaurs.  I didn't get a photo of his dinosaurs but they were very colorful.  I love this little man!

Stylin' Girl

Since I have been working on so many boy birthday parties lately, I decided to make a girl birthday card.  Shelby and Sadie are both dancers and ballet is their favorite so I might give this card to one of them.  I used some retired DSP along with Rose Red and Pink Pirouette card stock.  Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Dirtday

I found these little construction dies and couldn't resist buying them.  We go to a lot of birthday parties so I know these will get used a lot.  I used Naturals Ivory, Chocolate Chip, Daffodil Delight, and Smoky Slate card stock.  The wheels have Candy Dots added.  Dalton hasn't seen this card yet so it may not last until the next birthday party.  Thanks for stopping by!

Very Hungry Caterpillar Part 2

I am still working on the caterpillar party but have run into a small problem, I can't fund the bubbles I used on the first set so I will have to wait to finish it. I made a little M&M tube as a candy treat and the bubbles will have all the things he ate through.

I think I have bought each of the kids their own book through the years. The one in the photo was Seth's and I always write them a message in the front of the book and date it.  this one was given to Seth in 1985 for his second birthday.  thanks for stopping by!

Happy Big Day!

Happy Monday!  My kids are back in school today, I am completely exhausted from Spring Break.  We waited for Shelby to come on Thursday from her trip and then headed to St. Louis for some fun with all of them.  It was nonstop, Dalton really enjoyed going to the Science Center and seeing the dinosaurs.  They had Build a Bear stores at the Zoo and at the Science Center, even Shelby couldn't resist making a bear but she made Sadie carry it just in case some cute boy walked by.

Sorry, just realized my camera must have a smudge on the lens, it could be cotton candy, funnel cake, ketchup, ice cream, or any combination of these things.  I tried inking up a block and stamping it to make a background for this card.  I like how it turns out different every time you do it.  Off to catch up on laundry, thanks for stopping by!

Serene Silhouettes

I had planned to finish the rest of the Hungry Caterpillar party yesterday and share it with you today but between doctors visits, laundry stacked to the moon and back, and severe weather it didn't happen.  So, here is a sympathy card using the stamp set Serene Silhouettes.  The card stock colors are Soft Sky and Night of Navy.

We had a tornado warning party in the closet last night and the kids loved it so much they want to do it every night. We don't have a basement nor a storm shelter so  after our town experienced a deadly tornado a couple years ago I cleared out a closet under the stairway and designated it the tornado party place.  I put a few toys, radio, flashlights, batteries, blankets, snacks, ect in there.  We were in bed when the tornado sirens sounded, so I ran to their rooms, woke them, and hurried into the closet.  They were scared at first but then quickly settled in and Dalton even wanted to sleep there the rest of the night.

Spring has Sprung

Isn't this beautiful!  This is what I saw when I looked out the window this morning.  This is a Star Magnolia tree that was already here when we bought the house.  It is usually the first thing to bloom each Spring and I look forward to it.  As you can see on the ground underneath, we had a storm last night that took a lot of the blooms off.

I am working on another birthday party, this time it is Very hungry Caterpillar.  I have some other things made but haven't photographed them yet.

My Shelby made it home last night around midnight, completely worn out plus she had an allergy attack while gone which left her with an earache.  The plane trip made the ear hurt a lot worse so we are headed to the doctor today before we take off for a couple nights in St. Louis.

Baby We've Grown

Love these little baby shoes, this stamp set  set also contains a stamp with boy shoes.  My husband's sister passed away recently and when her daughter was packing up her condo she found a little box that contained one shoe from each of her three grandchildren's first pair of shoes.  Although it was a very emotional time, it still meant a lot to Amanda to find them.  This stamp set, Baby We've Grown can be found in the Occasions Catalog.  thanks for stopping by!

Happy Dirtday

I am working on another  boy birthday party, this time it is a construction theme.  I used a retired stamp set for the dump truck.  The DSP is from the Kaleidoscope collection and can be found in the Occasions catalog.  The best part of the party is the treats and this one is sure to please.

I cut two  trucks from a Cricut cartridge and then attached them to a Fancy Favor box.  Thanks for stopping by!
