I live in a zoo!
To say it has been crazy around here is an understatement! The girls and I went to Springfield over the weekend for a Girl Scout activity, a Lincoln Pilgrimage, it was very educational and we enjoyed it even though my back, feet and legs are still aching from all the walking. I didn't remember to pack sun screen and we got a sun/wind burn which caused the girls to get a little grumpy on the way home not to mention that the air conditioner in my card broke as well. We got home late Sunday night to find out the air conditioner in the house was also not working. The car is in the shop today and it is going to cost $1100.00 and the repairman for the house hasn't arrived yet today and I would imagine it will cost even more than the car. Sometimes I think my house is a zoo and I am a zookeeper. Shelby, my 10 year broke her foot yesterday at dance class. They are performing some pretty difficult jumps and her dance teacher said she did the best one she has ever done until she landed and she knew instantly something happened. Shelby tried really hard to just suck it up on go on, she didn't call me, and she even managed to limp out to the car when I picked her up, but once in the car the tears came. I knew it had to be fractured just by looking at it because of a big knot on the side of her foot. And to make it even worse, dance recital is in 3 weeks! She is on crutches with a compression bandage for a few days and then she goes back for more x-rays.
I did manage to get a card done last night after the girls went to bed. I used the set "Friends 24/7" I have seen a lot of cards made with this but hadn't even mounted mine until yesterday. I love every stamp in this set but especially the bird. I used SU specialty paper, Parisian Breeze and Baja Breeze card stock. Hopefully, I will be able to post more from the "Zoo" tomorrow!

Happy Mommy Day
Do your kids call you Mom or Mother? Mine call me Mommy and I love it, that is what I called my Mommy. My Mommy went to be with Jesus 28 years ago next month, she was only 44 years old and died from cancer. Mother's Day always brings tears but I am more able to celebrate her life now than I used to be. I wasn't a christian when she died and I didn't realize that she was in a much better place. So, if your Mommy is here CELEBRATE with her and if she isn't CELEBRATE her life.
I made today's card from left-overs from my Technique class last weekend rather than put everything away. The Scallop oval is Rose Red but doesn't clash as much IRL as it does in the photo. The other colors are Pink Pirouette and Pretty in Pink. I also used a MS embossing border punch and MS pearls.

For you
I'm posting later than usual, been a busy day. I used Tangerine Tango today and this is probably only the second time. I don't know why, I just never pick it up but thought I had better use it since it retires soon. The stamps are from Blooming with Love, I colored them with copics and cut out using the rectangle and scalloped rectangle nesties. The base cardstock is Old Olive and the DP is Colorfall from Imaginisce. The paper flowers are from Oriental Trading and I love how they match my DP. Hope you like it.

Friends Forever
For today's project I used the Summer Love Rub-Ons from the Occasions Mini. I love the coordinating colors you can put with these: Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Cameo Coral, and Basic Gray. I have to tell you Stampin' Up' has the best rub-ons I have ever used. They come off the transfer sheet so smoothly. I tell you this before I tell you the boo-boo I made on this card. I messed this one up because I was multi-tasking and talking on the phone as I was transferring my rub-on and didn't get a complete transfer. Now, I know that you can place the sheet back over and re-do it, but this one happened to transfer onto my nail so I couldn't do that. But not to be a total loss, I added the cute little butterfly punch from MS.
Don't forget, for every $40.00 you spend from the Occasions Mini, you can choose one item from the Under $10.00 page(last page of catalog)for FREE.

Happy Mothers Day
Shelby's teacher asked me if I would design a Mother's Day card and help the kids in her 4th grade class make it for their mothers. I sent two different samples and she let the kids vote on the one they wanted to make. This one is my favorite of the two, but it lost. I will show the winner later.
I used pretty in pink and pink pirouette card stock, I cut a scalloped rectangle and stamped one of the images from the set, Thoughts and Prayers. For the flowers, I punched several colors with the Trio Flowers punch. The sentiment is from All Holidays set and was punched out with the wide oval.

Fresh picked daisies
I got the idea for this card from Mary Fish's Stampin Pretty blog. I am having a technique class on Saturday on creative ways to use punches and this one does just that. Notice the vase, this is made from a wide oval punch. I just snipped a small portion of the top and used it for the base of the vase. I didn't add a sentiment because I am not sure who or for what reason I'll send the card. The daisies are from the Daisy die from Stampin' Up. We finally had a sunny day, can you tell from my photo, no blue background.

Baby Blue
I saw this cute baby carriage on Splitcoast yesterday and just had to give it a try. My son and his fiancee are having a baby boy in June and I am making some things for their baby shower and thought this would be a perfect little favor container. Here is a link to the one I saw and cased http://berkerblog.blogspot.com . Check out this website for the directions on how to make it. Thanks for stopping by.

True Friend
~~~~~~~~~~~SCROLL DOWN FOR BLOG CANDY~~~~~~~~~~~
For today I am posting a card we did last month in Technique class, I forgot to post it then. I am also using it for a Challenge. The butterfly was done using baby wipes and re-inkers for a water colored look. I also used circle and scallop circle nesties as well as a photo corner punch.
Time Flies
~~~~~~~SCROLL DOWN FOR BLOG CANDY~~~~~~
I recently got in contact with a dear friend I haven't talked to in several years. It was so good to hear from her and this summer I hope to visit her. It made me realize how busy I am and that I need to stop and appreciate relationships a bit more, thus the sentiment for this card.
This card was cased from Dawn Easton at her Treasurer Oiler blog, she is very talented and makes some beautiful cards. I used my new Butterfly Spellbinders die and cut two and layered them. I also used my favorite DP, Parisian Breeze. I apologize for the photo, we haven't had natural sunlight in weeks and it makes for bad photos, the base for the card is whisper white and the card is really pretty IRL.

blog candy
Here is a link to some awesome blog candy http://phoenixcrafts.blogspot.com . My blog candy starts tomorrow.
Fifth Avenue Floral
I was reluctant to get this stamp set at first, but when I saw all the cards done using it, I had to have it. I really like the way this card turned out. I used Urban Oasis designer paper for all the layers and stamped the one rose in Black Stazon ink and then used an aqua painter and Baja Blue ink to watercolor it. Hope you like it!

Eggstra special
I have been busy all day making these little treats for my Sunday School class and for the teachers and helpers in Sadie and Shelby's classes. In all I needed 23. I teach 2-3 year olds and usually have 8-9 but for Easter I plan on a few extras so I am making a few more but ran out of candy so I will have to finish them tomorrow. I used the Top Note diecuts and made the bunny with the scallop circle, 1 3/8 circle, 11/4 circle, small oval, word window, and flower trio punches. They were easy to make but time consuming.

Just a litttle thanks
It seems like such a long time since I have posted, I have been making projects but for VBS at out church. I do crafts and have to teach an Associational class on the 21st of this month and still have lots to do to prepare.
My card for today took a long time to make but I really like how it turned out. My inspiration came from a card on a blog called Emily's Expression's, she is very talented, check out her blog. The flowers were from the SU punch Blossom Trio. Hope you like it.

Blog banner
So what do you think about my new blog banner! Isn't it awesome? I'm out of town this weekend at a Scrapbooking Convention and when I return there will be some great blog candy so make sure you check back. Leave me a comment about what you think about my new banner. My banner was created by Michele Laycock and the redesign of the blog was done by Blogs by Heather, what a super talented duo.
