Christmas Quilt

I have made several attempts at learning to sew but I am not good at it and usually get frustrated and throw whatever project I am working on away.  I blame my mother for my inability, she wouldn't let us even touch her sewing machine when we were growing up.  She had saved S&H green stamps(anyone remember these stamps) to get it so she could make our clothes and she became very good at sewing even without a pattern.  I love how this quilt turned out, thanks for stopping by!

Merry Christmas Wishes

Very quick and very simple is my style these days.  I am putting together a bundle of cards to give as thank you gifts to my three beautiful sisters.  They live 8 hours away from me and I don't get to see them very often but they have driven the 8 hours three times now to come help me out.  I always do a Fall craft show and work on cards for it for months prior to the event.  I was planning on skipping it this year but they came and did it for me, they are the BEST sisters in the world!  My only brother came to visit me as well but he really isn't into craft shows. 

Christmas Sweater

I wanted to address a few emails that I have received lately...yes I am still a Stampin' Up! demonstrator....I just haven't stamped much lately.  I have been dealing with breast cancer and have not had much energy for anything extra.  I hope to be back to doing classes as soon as the radiation treatments are over.  Thanks for all the prayers , words of encouragement, food, gift certificates, and rides to the doctor, I have the best customers(friends) in the world!

I went shopping yesterday and found these birch slices and snowmen at Hobby Lobby.  I wasn't sure if I could stamp on them or not but gave it a try and they and it worked perfectly.  I wish I had bought more because these will be perfect for teacher gifts.  Thanks for stopping by!

Do you make masculine Christmas cards...I usually don't set out to make mine gender specific but my husband asked me to make him some cards to give to his clients so this is what I came up with.  He contracts with several big companies so I kept it simple since I will need to make so many.

Little Stockings

Happy Birthday

Since I had the Memories and More cards out I decided to make another Fall card using them.  This makes a very easy and simple card in just minutes. 

On a personal note....you may have noticed that I have neglected my blog lately.  Now that I have let all my kiddos know I will share the reason with my faithful blog readers as well.  I recently found out that I have Breast Cancer so I have had a lot of doctors appointments and such to take care of.  The cancer is very early and the prognosis is good.  I will have surgery to remove it followed by radiation treatments to kill any cells that are missed by the surgery.  Prayers appreciated, thanks for stopping by!

Back to School!

School is back in session!  My Dalton is the first one in line in this photo, doesn't he look sad 🙁.
The girls were ready to go back but the big girls refused to take pictures and Ava does whatever they do so she wouldn't cooperate either.

And, I do have a card to share today.  My stamping time has been very limited the past two weeks but I should have more time now.  I just finished up a large wedding order and have designed the next one and sent it to the bride for approval and the best part is that she isn't getting married until Summer 2018 so I can take my time on it.  Thanks for stopping by!

Night in Bethlehem

I have a Christmas card today using the dies that coordinate with the night in Bethlehem stamp set.  I have already decided this will be the card I send out this year, LOVE it!  I cut a sliver of a piece of Merry Music DSP to add below the die cut image of Bethlehem but still felt like I needed a sentiment added as well.  The sentiment is from the stamp set Gentle Peace which is retired.   For those who attend classes, this will be part of the next Christmas card class as well.   Thanks for stopping by!

Seasonal Layers

I can feel Fall in the air and that excites me because I love everything about Fall!  the chair and the leaf are from the Seasonal Layers Thinlets.  the DSP is in the Holiday Catalog and is called Painted Autumn.  I have lots of Fall  birthdays coming up so I will probably make several more of these.

Back to School Time!

It's almost back to school time!  I have to admit I am ready to send my sweet munchkins back to school.  I really enjoy them being at home except they are not content just being home, we stay on the go to somewhere... anywhere.  I took them to St. Louis for the weekend and spent way too much money entertaining them and buying back to school supplies and clothes.  I made a few cards to give to the littles for their new teachers, they will be in second grade this year. Shelby will be a college freshmen and Sadie will be in eighth grade, time is flying by too fast.   Thanks for stopping by!

Carols of Christmas

 

I feel like I am already behind, I have usually started Christmas cards before now but my kids have kept me on the go all Summer.  We are headed out of town this weekend for a short trip and again next weekend and then hopefully some time at  home will happen.  This card was made using the Carols of Christmas suite that is in the new Holiday catalog available soon.  BUT you don't have to wait until the new catalog comes out!!!!  You can order it starting in August!

It has been a while since I posted anything because it is Summer and my kiddos think that means go somewhere and do something every day.  I have been able to get a few classes in and this card is from one of them.  I used the Grown with Love stamp set and the matching Garden Grown Framelits.
Off to entertain the kids, I think a movie sounds good since it is so hot outside.

This Little Piggy

This stamp set was close to the top of my list of favorites when the new catalog came out.  I love the cuteness factor but I also like that I have a story to scrapbook about that I can use this set for as well.  I grew up on a farm and we raised lots of different kinds of animals but the pigs were my favorite and after all I was named after a pig.  My parents couldn't decide on a name for me because I was their first and they just knew I was going to be a boy, so they had no girl names picked out.  The doctor finally gave them 10 minutes to decide on something so my dad picked up a magazine in the room and started looking through it.  It just happened to be a farming magazine and there was a cartoon in it about a pig named Sandy, so I was named Sandra Lynn. 

Falling Flowers

Today's card is somewhat a CASE of a card I saw on Pinterest but evidently didn't pin it because now I can't find it.  I used the Falling Flowers stamp set and the May flowers Framelit dies.  I think this is the first time I have used this set and I got it when last years annual catalog first came out.  I am going to do better....I have good intentions but somehow don't see them through. I have set a goal to ink up every stamp I have that hasn't seen ink before the end of 2017.  Wish me luck!

Thanks a Latte

I am not much of a coffee drinker, usually one cup in the morning when it is cold outside, but I always purchase any stamps related to coffee.  Coffee is a reminder of my mother, she would have a cup of coffee in her hand from the time she got out of bed until she went back to bed at night.  She used a lot of creamer in hers but never any sweetner. Happy Retirement
