Inspired by Nature
Good Morning! Tomorrow is the big day....the new catalog starts. I have a very large wish list already, I want all the new dies and the In Colors are yummy, you won't be disappointed. Today I have a sneak peak using a new In Color, Melon Mambo, with an old favorite stamp set, Inspired by Nature. I also used Kiwi Kiss, they didn't give us a green in the new In Colors but as you can see Kiwi Kiss looks pretty good. The Kraft patterned paper is from a retiring patterns pack that was a hostess selection in the current catalog. I also used the polka dot Melon Mambo ribbon which I love.

Here For You
I love how this card turned out, I think it has such a vintage feel to it which is something I rarely do but will be trying more often now. This is the Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Paper from Stampin' Up with the new In Colors, Crushed Curry and Melon Mambo. The image is from the stamp set, True Friend. The sentiment is a bit hard to read but says "Here for You"(you can click on the image to enlarge it). I made this card for my sister who is going through a difficult time right now, her husband had a major heart attack (at age 42) and had to have quadruple by-pass surgery. I wish I lived closer to her so that I could help her but I live an 8 hour drive away. But the good thing that came out of all this is that he accepted Christ and now has the assurance of living throughout eternity in Heaven, so I think that is pretty awesome!
p.s. I mailed out the catalogs to all that ordered them today. I do have some extras so let me know if you want one. The cost to mail them is $10.00 but you get a gift certificate worth ten dollars off your first new catalog order through me.

Good Bye, Good Morning Sunshine
Good evening, hope your Saturday has been relaxing. I had a Big Shot/Punch class today and that is about all I have done except hold my sweet baby Dalton. Today I am sharing a card I made which was inspired by one done by Mary Fish. I used the retiring Pacific Point and Good Morning Sunshine papers. This was one of my favorite DP from the Spring/Summer catalog so I stocked up on it and you can too, if you hurry because after June 30 it will no longer be available. I also used the corduroy Summer Sun buttons. The daises are cut in Summer Sun and Bashful Blue.

Weiman Wranglers
I have been following a blog, " Happy Stamping", for some time. Alicia Weiman, the author of this blog, lost her son Ethan to cancer a few weeks ago. She has shown amazing strength throughout all they have endured during the two plus years since his diagnosis. Ethan was an amazing little boy who loved horses, rodeos, and balloons. Some of Alicia's friends came up with a way to honor Ethan and raise money for the Illinois Make a Wish Foundation. They are offering a couple of digital images, one of which I used for my card today, and another one with a little boy. You can help this great cause and honor Ethan's memory by going to Pink Cat Studio
and purchasing one or both of these images. You can read more of Ethan's story here .
A little about my card. I re-sized the image and printed it out on Whisper White card stock and then colored it with Copics (don't be too hard on me, my coloring isn't too good but I am still learning plus I don't have very many colors to choose from). I was going to do the little boy image but I had this cute Cowgirl designer paper and wanted to use it so I did the girl. The DP is by Debbie Mumm from Creative Imaginations. The sentiment is also included with the digital image. This was my first digital stamping, hope you like it.

Fun in the Sun
Good evening! Hope you had a good weekend, I sure did. We got to spend a lot of time with Baby Dalton on Sunday, he was passed around so everybody got a turn holding him. Sadie and Shelby adore him and Toy just sits and stares at him while I snuggle with him and get lots of kisses.
Okay, I did manage to sneak in my stamp room and make a card. I am really liking the new In Colors and have been putting them with some of the old colors to see what combinations I can come up with. For this card, I used Melon Mambo with So Saffron card stock. The sentiment is from a very old (1988) Stampin Up set called Fun in the Sun which I have held on to because it has some really cute stamps in it. I also used some Melon Mambo polka dot ribbon but turned it over to the plain side. Hope you like it, thanks for stopping by.

Our Beautiful Baby Boy!
Let me introduce you to my sweet baby boy. He was born yesterday at 2:30 pm, he weighs 7lb10oz and is 19 1/2 inches long. I have held him for most of the today and he feels soooo good. His name is Dalton Toy Dixon, the Toy after my husband who is very proud to have a namesake. Needless to say, I will probably not get a whole lot of stamping done for a while. But I do have a project for today.
This card is one I made for my son since this is his first Father's Day. Seth works as a carpenter so I made this card using the stamp set Tool Time. Yesterday when Seth held Dalton for the first time he had a huge smile on his face and tears were streaming down his face at the same time and I heard him talking to another dad at the nursery window about his "son". Then it was my turn to cry. Shelby and Sadie think Dalton is the just the greatest and have been calling each other "Auntie" all day. Thanks for stopping by.

Orders for June Class Kit to Go
Did you know that you can customize your Class Kit to Go, that is just what Kim did. Kim is having twins, a boy and a girl, and wanted the kit to use as a mini 12 month scrapbook to record all the "firsts" for the babies. She realizes time to scrapbook will be premium so this "mini" will be perfect. I found this cute paper with words in colorful circles and it even has the words boy and girl on it so this is what I went with for the cover. The twelve inside pages are Pretty in Pink and Bashful Blue and the back pages are geometric shapes in pastels. I made extras of each of these if you like them. I also have an order for a Birthday kit and one for a beach vacation, I'm not finished with these but will show them to you soon.
Speaking of babies, our baby will be born tomorrow. Danielle is scheduled for labor inducement at 6:00 am tomorrow. She and Seth are both very anxious and will be happy to see the little guy. Prayers are appreciated!

Make a Splash
Good afternoon! I just love this image, it reminds me so much of my 5 year old. The only thing I would add would be a sentiment, "Watch this Mommy!" because I hear that soooooo many times a day. I don't know any children who love to swim more than my two, Sadie is up some mornings at 6:00 am wanting to swim before she goes to swim team practice and then I have to drag her out of the pool at 8:00 pm.
I also used some retiring Pacific Point and Good Morning Sunshine DP. The ribbon is one of new In Colors, Crushed Curry.
Here is a picture of my two little sea monkeys acting silly as usual.

Autumn Days Sneak Peak
The stamp set I used for this card is called , Autumn Days. I think it has a masculine look to it and thought it would make a good Father's Day or male birthday card. I used new In Colors as well, Soft Suede base, Rich Razzleberry layer, and Crushed curry Top Note. The images are stamped in Soft Suede and Crushed Curry.
I am going to let my girls give this card to their dad for Father's Day. He is gone backpacking on the Appalachian Trail with our son and a friend. My husband, Toy, will turn 65 in November and my son is 28 and I worried how he would do on the trail since they are hiking the most rugged part of the Trail. I talked to him yesterday and he sounds really tired but won't admit it. I planned on doing nothing but stamping while he was gone but it sure hasn't worked out that way. I guess I didn't realize how much he really does to help with the girls. I will sure be glad when he gets home and I know two little girls will too. Thanks for stopping by.

Animal Stories Sneak Peak
I will certainly miss the stamp set, Wild About You, which is retiring June 30 but SU did give us another stamp set to replace it call Animal Stories and Designer Paper called Tall Tales to match. I made this card to go with the animal crackers box I posted yesterday. Notice I didn't add a sentiment...sometimes I do this because I am not sure for what occasion I will give the card so I wait until I am ready to give it and then add the sentiment. Thanks for stopping by!
p.s. Thanks to Anne, Shelia, Toni, and Robin for ordering Kits to Go for June. I have mailed to Anne and Toni and am working on the others. Also thanks to Robin and Julie for Last Chance orders, these have shipped and should be here Wed.

Tall Tales
I found a cute little box on Splitcoast and had to case it, these new papers from SU are perfect for what is inside the box...animal crackers of course. Here is a link to the one I saw on Splitcoast. I didn't cut a window in mine and used different paper but everything else is the same. I used a new SU paper called Tall Tales, which will be available July 1. I also made a card to go with it which I will show you tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by.

Sneak Peak
I LOVE the new SU catalog, it is the best one yet. I got it yesterday and have hardly laid it down. They really outdid themselves, the projects are way better...before I rarely cased anything from the catalog because I thought my ideas were better than what they had...but I want to make almost all of the ones in this new catalog. I am not overjoyed about the new In Colors but I do have to say they are "growing " on me. They are better in real life than all the photos I had seen, that being said here is a photo of the new markers (yeah, we get markers in the in-colors this time).
Okay, on to my card for today, I used the stamp set Circle Circus and stamped it in Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo, and Rich Razzleberry. The papers are Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo and the DP is Razzleberry Lemonade. I also used a new punch, called Modern Label. Hope you like it, I have got to get back to my new catalog!

Patriotic Box
Good afternoon, the sun is shining where I am, hope it is for you too. Today I have a cute little box made using the SU exclusive Top Note die. If you are coming to my Big Shot/Punch class later this month, this is one of the projects we will be making so I am not going to give away the "box" part just yet. I got the idea from the SU demonstrator website and the original design was by BJ Peters and Sandy Poehnelt. I always decorate the mantle over my fireplace for every occasion and I think that is where I will use this but I think it would also be cute to use for a July 4th celebration as a table decoration and hold candies or mints or even as a gift container for a child and put a little kiddie pair of sunglasses in it. Thanks for visiting today!

Happy Father's Day
Good Morning! First off, let me say I am not satisfied with how this card turned out. I started it about two weeks ago and couldn't get it the way I wanted so I shoved it to the side and then I realized I haven't posted a Father's Day card yet so I pulled it out this morning. Plus with all the clouds we have today, my photo stinks!
But enough whining....I used Chocolate Chip for the base and then a layer of Garden Green (sentiment is stamped in Garden Green as well). The DP is retiring Manchester. I used the Harlequin texturz plate for the Creamy Caramel layer. The corduroy buttons are Basic Gray and Baja Breeze(Baja buttons are also retiring).

A Little Note of Thanks
Good Monday afternoon! Today is the first day the kids are home for summer break and can I ever tell the difference. They are both on the swim team and have practice every morning at 8:00 am, so no sleeping in for us. Then after that we had a swim party to go to for the Sonshine kids group at church, and then of course they are starved from all the swimming. So finally I had time to stamp while they are in the pool again but with Dad in charge of watching this afternoon.
I found a cute pad of paper from Little Yellow Bicycle called Baby Safari which has colors very close to some of the Stampin' Up colors. I used So Saffron, Bashful Blue, and Certainly Celery. The stamp that I used is from the Note of Thanks which is located in the under $10.00 section of the current catalog and it is on the Last Chance List. It comes with 2 stamps, a stamping spot, 4 note cards and 4 envelopes but you only have until June 30 to order it. But better yet, get it for free with a minimum $50.00 order before taxes and shipping. If you order through my website I will mail it out separately or you can contact me to order.

Wild About You treat boxes
Hope you are having a relaxing Saturday. We had our baby shower today and Seth and
Danielle got some very nice gifts. Not very many people were in attendance but a lot of people sent gifts and when we got home the mailbox had 6 cards and there was gifts on the porch so I think they got enough to be set for some time. Seth's job is not real steady right now so everything was very much appreciated. We have an awesome bunch of friends and to God we are thankful.
On to my project for today...I made these little treat boxes to go with the diaper cake and the "Wild About You" theme for the shower.I used the Box # 2 die which is really the easiest assembled box I have ever seen, it takes a tiny piece of adhesive, a few folds and it is done. I also like that you can use a 5 x 11 piece of card stock and don't have to used a 12 inch piece.

Baby Carriage
Tomorrow is the baby shower for my son, they are having a boy and he is due June 22. I have had a ball getting ready for it. I made the invitations, the thank you's, a diaper cake which I have posted already, favor boxes, altered gift bags and gift boxes, and these little carriages. I showed one of these before on my blog but the photograph was terrible so I am showing it again, beside I like this one better. I made 4, one for each of the tables to hold mints. We are using an animal theme so most of the things I have made uses animal print papers or stamped animals. I will share more pictures tomorrow.

Wild About You Diaper Cake
Today I worked on more baby shower stuff...this is the diaper cake I made. This was my first attempt at one and I thought it was a lot of fun and easy to make. Of course, I found a very good tutorial here which made it easy. We are using an animal theme for the shower so I used the animals from the stamp set Wild About You to stamp the animal and then cut them out and glued them to toothpicks. I hated to see this set on the Last Chance list but I have a suspicion we will get another animal set to replace it. One of the Designer Papers we got to pre-order had an animal theme but I won't get my order in time to use it for the shower.
Don't forget to stock up on your favorite In Color inks and papers because they will be gone June 30.

Water Color Lilies
I made this card for my Technique class month on water coloring but forgot to post it. I needed something for today since all I have had time to work on is baby shower things which I will share after the baby shower on
Saturday. I used the flowers from Fifth Avenue Floral and water colored them. The tag in the middle is one that you get on the Matchbox Die and the sentiment is from Great Friends. It smeared it a little even though I used black Stazon ink.

June Class Kit to Go
This is the June class kit. It is actually a small scrapbook. This one I intend to use as a scrapbook about my soon to arrive grandson. I will have 12 pages, one for each month. On one side I will put his picture and on the back I will journal about the milestones for that month. I have also made one in a different color and different stamp set to show you how versatile this kit can be. The pink one I will use as a small scrapbook about one of my girl's birthdays.
Here is what you get in your kit: OPTION #1 the front and back cover cut in the scallop shape in your choice of Stampin' Up colors, 6 Whisper White scallop circles(you can purchase more if you want at .25 cents each), 6 punch pieces (your choice of color from my collection), the ring, two sections of ribbon to match your choice of color, and two corduroy buttons. All this for $6.00 which includes postage. You will not receive the stamped image. OPTION #2 You will get the kit free with a minimum of $25.00 purchase (before taxes and shipping) online.
Just Too Busy
To say that my life has been a bit hectic the past few days is really an understatement. My husband sees a doctor in St Louis and had a 9:00 am appointment on Monday. He can't drive that far because of a recent shoulder and back surgery but a friend volunteered to drive him, but something came up on Sunday morning and he couldn't do it so that left me. We left on Sunday after church and I had about 30 minutes notice and had to get the girls and myself packed and ready to go. I didn't do any laundry on Friday or Saturday because of Dance Recital and a cookout at a friends house which meant the pile of dirties was almost as tall as me and now it is out the door since we didn't get home until 6:00 pm yesterday. While we were there Sadie got an earache so we stopped by her pediatrician before coming home yesterday and then I had an appointment this morning in Evansville at 8:30 which meant leaving home at 6:45 so I am pooped! I will be back later today with a project and a winner of the May Stamp of the month.
