XOXO

Good evening! The kids and I left at 7:45 this morning and we got home at 7:00 pm tonight. We have had a FUN day which included going shopping, going to Chuck E Cheese, and more shopping. This was Dalton's(my 18 month old grandson) first time to go to CEC and he loved it. The girls got gift certificates to Justice and Gymboree so of course we had to spend a lot of time in each of these stores and then we had to accessorize the outfits at Club Tabby and then we had to get shoes and purses. Dalton is definitely a shopper, he enjoyed every minute of it, he especially liked a Tutu at club Tabby but I knew if we brought that home his Dad would never let him go out with the girls again.

Anyway here is a card I made yesterday using the stamp set Filled with Love which is part of the Filled with love promotion(link to the pdf on my sidebar). I used some DP from Playdate, some Real Red satin ribbon and the sentiment is from Love Impressions rub-ons available in the Occasions Mini.  I add some pearls to the punched Fleur de lis border.  Thanks for stopping by!

Valentine Greeting

Good afternoon! Today I decided to start making a few Valentine cards, I will probably tire of them before Valentine's Day but maybe I will mix it up a bit along the way. I used an image from Greeting Card Kids and colored it with Copics and punched it out with the 2 1/2 inch circle punch which is now available. I used a new DSP which will be available in the Occasions Mini called Love Impressions. The coordinating colors are Pink Pirouette, Real Red, and Basic Gray so I used Pink Pirouette for my base and added a layer of Basic Gray. I embossed a strip of Pink Pirouette with a heart folder from Cuttlebug and then added two strips of DSP.  Thanks for stopping by!

The Best Christmas Ever

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, we certainly did.  I have been absent for over a week but hopefully things will settle down here a bit so I can play with all my new things I got to pre-order for the  Occasions Mini which starts Jan 4.  We bought each of our 3 oldest children a "special" gift this year for Christmas.  We bought Heather a house, Chad got 5 acres of land to build on, and Seth got a house.  The houses are in need of a little attention such as painting and some minor repairs so my husband and I have been busy helping out there.  We didn't tell Heather and Chad ahead of time what we were doing so they were very surprised when we told them they would have to get in the car and drive to see their Christmas gift this year.  They were  in shock but very happy.  They both live in Indiana but have always said that was temporary and wanted to move closer some day, that someday will be sooner now!

Ok, you didn't come to hear about all that!  I just can't put this cute snowman away, he is so easy to color and so versatile.  I am using him this time for my Thank You cards for all the ladies(Karen G., Mandy, Brooklyn, and Karen R.) who placed on-line orders in December.  Thanks for stopping by!

Decorative Label Votive

It's almost Christmas! Are you counting down, my girls are. Today I have a little bit of home decor, a votive holder. I used the Fancy Favor die to create the box and punched with the Decorative Label. I ran vellum card stock through the Big Shot with the dots embossing folder and tied a ribbon of Always Artichoke seam binding. This was so easy but looks great as part of a Holiday arrangement of holly and pine cones. I have three on my mantle. I used battery operated tea lights for safety. thanks for stopping by!

My Digital Studio

Welcome!  I did it, I finally bought My Digital Studio and loaded it on my computer tonight.  Now I have a LOT to learn but I did this super simple page in about 1 minute.  I could really start to like this since I am about 5 years behind in scrapbooking. I have never tried  any kind of Digital scrapbooking so I am going to get on the SU website tomorrow and try to get certified but I had to give it a try tonight.  Wish me luck!

O Christmas Tree

Good evening! We were out of school again today because of ice this time. It sure disrupts my schedule when the kids are home through the week but we have had a fun day. Today I have a Christmas tree that I made using the small circle punch from the Itty Bitty Shapers Punch Pack. Now I know you must be thinking I have to be crazy to punch all these circles out. Actually, I made this with scrap pieces left over from a set of cards I made, and I punched a few ever so often until I got enough to complete it. I have to keep my hands busy at something(anything to avoid housework)!  I hope you like it!

Candy Cane Christmas

I am so glad this week is almost over, not that I won't have a busier week next week but this one has been a hard one. I left home yesterday at 7:45 to take the girls to school and came back home at 8:30 pm last night. Today will be the same, I have doctor's appointments, dentists, appointments, orthodontist appointments, volunteering at school, cooking for Toy's mining class, and whatever unexpected things pop up this week. So while I still had this paper out a few days ago, I made another CAS card.  Hope you like  it, gotta run!Posted by Picasa

Wishing You a Merry Christmas

Good afternoon!  I have had a busy but rewarding day, the girls are out of school because of the weather so we have been at church cooking chili for a class my husband is teaching.  I have to say they were very helpful since I was running a bit behind because I forgot a few things when I shopped yesterday.  I also had a few minutes to stamp late last night and pulled out this cute snow globe and inked it for the first time.  I love how it turned out, I put some water and glitter in a treat cup about a week ago and covered the back with a circle cut from our thick plastic sheets.  It has been lying on my desk for a week and no water has leaked out so I used it on my card.  I used  Candy Cane Christmas DSP with Real Red and Baja Breeze card stock.  Thanks for stopping by!

Craft Show Favorites

Brrrr!!! It is so cold outside and snow has been falling most of the day, I missed church this morning but not because of the weather. I have two little ones who are sick, Shelby and Dalton both have nasty colds and Dalton has fever. These purses were made for my most recent Craft Show and I had forgotten about them until yesterday when I loaded my spare memory card on to the computer. I bought the tutorial for these from Becky Roberts for hardly nothing and I have sure made my money back, I have sold 43 of these little purses so far!  They are perfect size for tucking in a few pieces of chocolate and a gift card.

Stay safe if you live where the latest wintry weather is hitting hard and don't forget to fill your bird feeders.  Thanks for stopping by!

Winter Wonderland

Happy Saturday! Today I have a card using the cute little snowman from Jolly Old Saint Nick stamp set. I love the Baja Breeze and Real Red in the Candy Cane Christmas DSP, I also added the clear tinsel around the stamped image. It looks really good IRL. The sentiment is from Bright Christmas and is perfect to use with the snowman. This was a quick and easy card so I made several of them. Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Greetings

Good afternoon!  Hope it is warm where you are, it is freezing cold here today.  I have been working on some little gift projects for the girls to give to Sunday School workers, teacher aides, and the auxiliary people in their school and church.  These two were made with the Box #2 and the Matchbox dies and they all have candy in them.   The rub-ons are a real time saver when it comes to making these in bulk.  Thanks for stopping by!

Deck the Halls with Fabric

Good evening, hope your week is going well. Today I have a project using fabric, I bought both selections of fabric from the holiday mini but haven't done much with it. If you have followed my blog very long, you know that the Fancy Favor box is my very favorite. So, when I saw this on SC, I knew I had to case it.  I took a piece of Always Artichoke card stock and sprayed it with quilt basting spray and then smoothed my fabric over it. Then I ran it through the Big shot with the die. I used Tombow to adhere my box together and added a handle with vintage brads.  Hope you like it!

Welcome Christmas

Good morning, I have been MIA for several days but I won't bore you with all the details. Hopefully this week will be better and I may even get my Christmas tree up! For today's card I used the Welcome Christmas stamp set and more of my favorite Deck the Halls DSP.  This card is part of a set that I made for one of my customers.  Thanks for stopping by!

Wish List

Good afternoon! It's December 1 and that means it is time for another Paper Cubed(P3) Challenge. This month we were to make something involving a list and since we can all benefit from making a list when we shop, I made a Christmas Wish List booklet. First let me tell you were my inspiration comes from....when my older kids were small, my middle son Chad always used to sneak and unwrap gifts really bad. Once he opened up a game I had bought for him and had it in his room playing it for a month before Christmas and when we opened gifts Christmas morning the box I had wrapped was empty. I was so upset and told him he would get the game as soon as the store opened the next morning since they had sold me an empty box. His little sheepish grin gave him away and he confessed to sneaking into the packages. So this is where the secret code comes in, every year since I have wrapped my gifts and given them fictitious names. This year they will be Dasher(Heather), Dancer(Chad), Prancer(Seth), Comet(Shelby), Vixen(Sadie), and Rudolph(Dalton).

Now on to how I made my Wish List booklet...I used the little brown bags from SU and cut off the scalloped edge. I then covered the top of each bag with Deck the Halls DSP and fastened the bags together with Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding ribbon. I punched Round Tabs out in Cherry Cobbler and added the reindeer names with some retired rub-ons. I gave each of the kids a piece of Very Vanilla card stock when they were all home for Thanksgiving and had them write their wish list on it. I have that inside each bag and I have gift receipts for the ones I have shopped for already. The front was embellished with the more rub ons. This was a very easy and fun project, if you have questions let me know.

Make sure you check out all the other wonderful projects at the Paper Cubed blog and make something and link it up for a chance to win an awesome prize!

Ho Ho Ho

Good afternoon! Today I have another treat box/gift bag featuring the man himself, Santa! Isn't this adorable, I got this idea from the same person as the last post. This uses the Tasteful Trim die which I bought not really knowing what I wanted to do with it. His mustache is the bird wing from the bird punch and his eyes and nose are made with brads.

Don't forget that today is the last day to sign up as a demonstrator for HALF PRICE.  Just so you know if you aren't sure you want to be a demonstrator, you could sign up for 3 months and get all the benefits while you make up your mind. You still keep all the items in the kit plus you will enjoy at least 20% off any purchases during the 3 months. To remain active you only have to spend $300.00 over a 3 month period! I spend that much just by myself easy. You would also get to pre-order from the Occasions Mini and Sale a Bration starting tomorrow! Let me know if you are interested.

...And Two Eyes Made of Coal

Happy Monday, hope you had a blessed Thanksgiving weekend. We had all the kids here and it was wonderful! I had a craft show on Saturday and met up with some old friends, made new friends and had a very enjoyable day. This little snowman treat box/gift box was a hit, in fact I had someone tell me my booth was the Best of Show. That me me feel good! I forgot to take my camera along so I can't show you a picture but it did look pretty good. I saw this snowman here and had to make him. I think the ribbon scarf and the button earmuffs are what makes him so cute.  I used the Fancy Favor die and various punches.  Thanks for stopping by!

Yummy Cupcakes

Good morning! Have you stated your Thanksgiving cooking, I baked a ham yesterday and will thaw my turkeys today. I love holidays especially ones that involve eating with the whole family here. Today I have a cupcake to share with you but it isn't edible! I made this cutie using the Perfect Setting
die which is on sale right now at 40% off, just click on the Holiday Spectacular icon on my side bar to get all the details.  The icing is made from the 1 1/4 in striped grosgrain ribbon and the red polka dot grosgrain.  The button or cherry on top is from the Deck the Halls button collection.  This little cupcake is not only pretty to look at but it is functional as well, the top comes off and inside I made a bottom for it and added a cupcake liner so now it can be a treat holder or a gift box for jewelry or other small items.  These little cupcakes were given out to all the Founder's Circle achievers by SU this year and there are several tutorials around , some free and some you have to pay for.  Mine is just a combo of several I have seen.

For all my online customers, if you place an order during the Holiday Spectacular promotion please do so through the Shop Now button here on my blog in order to get the best pricing.  If you have questions, email me at dls8383@gmail.com.

Vintage Tags

Good evening, it has been a long day with lots going on, I think I got it all done. At my craft show a couple weeks ago I had some vintage tags for sale and the person who bought them ordered 30 more and I am happy to say they are done and will be shipped tomorrow! Here is a sample of one of them, I had many designs since I used a lot of my scraps from the Deck the Halls DSP and some retired rub-ons. I cut them with the Two Tags die and cut a layer of card stock and a layer of DSP.  I love how they turned out and will try to show get a photo of some of the others before I mail them off tomorrow.

My Gift

Today I want to share the best gift I have ever received, my beautiful girls! God sent them to us at the most perfect time in our life, when we could enjoy them the most. They keep me so busy and sometimes I get so tired I think I can't make it through the day but then God gives me the strength.  These photos are from a GREAT photographer, Tonya Conn, her business is called Connart and she does photography of all types but we always have a session in the Fall at her farm in Hardin County when the leaves at their peak.  As you can see, she does really good work.

This is probably the only one out of 150 shots that Sadie isn't smiling, she is a happy girl all the time and has a big smile on her face to prove it!

Dalton is really enjoying this photo session!

Look at all the dirt on his pants, he liked rolling in the leaves a whole better than sitting still for a picture!

Shelby is growing up way too fast, she has a semi-formal dance next week and we found her a beautiful dress.  I sometimes wish I could hold them at this age for a little longer.

Merry Crittermas

I am running a bit late today! The inspiration for my card came from this card by Lynn Weiss. The little critters from Merry Crittermas make me smile! The colors for this card are Certainly Celery and Marina Mist. Thanks for stopping by!

Merry

Good Monday morning! Have I told you how much I love the Deck the Halls DSP:) I don't usually go for the papers with big bold images but this is for sure an exception. The hardest part is that I want to use both sides plus add in several designs on each card. This photo doesn't do this one justice(my photo is a little grainy for some reason), it is very pretty IRL. I used Cherry Cobbler and Always Artichoke card stock, Deck the Halls DSP, and the only stamping is the tag from Tiny Tags. The Cherry Cobbler seam binding is the finishing touch. Hope you like it!

Teacher Gifts

Good morning! I had a few minutes yesterday to stamp so I started on some teacher gifts. I have seen several varieties of this project around but mine has a little twist, the back side is cork board. I used the chalk board sheets from Decor Elements and cut it down to fit my easel which is made from chip board. The background paper is actually part of practice writing tablet I bought for Sadie. Sadie assures me Mrs. Fromm will love this and was happy that we got the #7 on because she is 7 years old!  Hope your weekend is WONDERFUL!

Boxes, Bags, and Such

Happy Friday!  Today I have a cute little treat container designed by Becky Roberts. This is one of the projects we will make at my next class which will be on November 19, 20, and 22nd.  We will make two other projects which I will be showing you soon.  I am not offering this as a kit this time but if you live close by you are welcome to come any of the dates listed, just contact me to RSVP and I will give you the rest of the details.

Deck the Halls

Good Wednesday morning! Sorry my photo appears a bit washed out but I photographed it late last night and this was the best I could get. I love Cherry Cobbler and Always Artichoke together and this Deck the Halls  DSP is beautiful, you can use it alone and not even add a stamp which is what I did here. I added a sentiment from All Holidays, a little sponging with Crumb Cake, and a ribbon from seam binding and it was done. Quick and easy is my new motto!

Jolly Holiday

Hope you have had a good day!  Our weather was wonderful today so Dalton and I played outside for a couple hours which made him tired so he napped and I stamped.  I made another Christmas card using the Jolly Holiday DSP, don't you just love this paper!  This is a CAS card using the ornament from Tags til Christmas, a few jewels, and Old Olive taffeta ribbon.  Hope you like it, thanks for stopping by!

Craft Show

Good Afternoon! I don't have a photo of a project to share but thought I would show you what I have been up to. I had a craft show over the weekend and it was wonderful. I met so many new people who are interested in Stampin' Up, I also sold a ton of things. My little snowmen and reindeer aren't in jail, they are just in a wire basket on my display.  My Sadie asked me why  they  were in jail:)  Actually they went home with some very nice people. I am spending today catching up on laundry and putting everything back in my craft room but will see you tomorrow with a project. Thanks for stopping by!

A Morning Without Coffee

Good morning! I know three days in a row for posting, hard to believe but I have been staying up later and getting up earlier so I can squeeze in a few minutes each day to stamp. My card today uses the stamp set Morning Cup with Love Letter DSP and Basic Black card stock. I used copics to color with and got a stray mark about half way through coloring so decided to try save it by flicking some more ink on randomly.  I am not a coffee drinker but this set reminded me so much of my Mom, she had a coffee pot on from the time she woke up until she went to bed. She used to get together with my aunt and our neighbor for a "coffee klatch" almost every day and I used to sit at the table with them and listen as they talked and laughed together. That is one of my fondest memories of her because she was so happy during those times. She got cancer at age 38 and died when she was only 43. Toward the end she was unable to eat or drink but I used to dip the glycerin swabs in coffee and moisten her mouth with them. Thanks for stopping by, have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!

Gratitude

Good evening! Busy, busy day...Shelby broke her finger in a basketball game so we had to go to the doctor for x-rays and on Thursday we see an Orthopedic doctor since the fracture is in the growth plate. It's always something with kids, my calendar was full already but it just got fuller(is that a word, lol).

Since I had some scraps of the DSP I used to make the candle still out, I decided to make a card to go with the candle.  This was a quick and easy card but I like it.  Thanks for stopping by!
