For You

Good afternoon! Today I have a flower pot to show you, I had seen these around on several blogs so thought I would give it a try. The are really quick and easy. I used the Daisy # 2 die but only cut the smallest one. For the centers of each flower I run some Close to Cocoa through the Big shot with the dots embossing folder and then cut out 3/4 inch circles. We are on Spring Break for the next week and I plan on scheduling some posts ahead and I will have my laptop with me so I will check email daily. I will be placing an order on April 3rd or 4th so if you need anything let me know.

A Rose is a Rose

I LOVE how this card turned out. I have seen these on a bunch of sites so not sure who came up with the idea. The flower is made with the Ornament Punch so pull it back out if you stored it away with your Christmas stuff. You can't see it in the photo but the first step I did was to spray a whole sheet of Whisper White with a mixture of Alcohol/Champagne Mist shimmer paint. After it dried, I punched a
1 3/8 circle and a whole bunch of ornaments out. I then used a pen to kind of roll the edges so they curled toward the center a little. Next bend the little tab at the top of the ornament and glue this to the circle base. The first layer had 4 and then I just started layering toward the middle until it was full. I cut out a red lattice to go behind it, you could add leaves as well. The black layer is from the Groom Specialty paper. I just realized I left the sentiment off this one, I am going to give this to my husband's niece who just go married so I used the stamp, "For the Newlyweds" from the Teeny Tiny Greetings. We did this project yesterday for Technique class so I gave my first sample to one of the ladies who wasn't able to come. This is the project my on-line technique group will be getting this month as well.

Next month starts a new series of Technique classes and I would love to have you join in. Don't worry if you don't live close enough to attend in person, I have an online group as well. This is how it works, you commit to 6 months at a time to buy a monthly minimum of $25.00(before taxes and shipping). Each month I will have 3 projects which feature a new technique, usually one 3-D project and 2 cards, you will be the hostess once during the 6 months and will get the free Hostess set and the Hostess reward. The Kit of the month that I feature sometimes does not count toward the $25.00 minimum. I will mail your kit and your order to you for an additional $2.00. Let me know if you are interested!

Ready for Tulips

Good afternoon! Hope your day hasn't been as rainy as mine, it was pouring when I went to pick the girls up from school. I had technique class today and this is one of the projects we made. I used the wing from the Two Step Bird punch to make the tulips and the vase is made from the ornament punch. I stamped on the vase with a stamp from the Tiny Tags stamp set. I didn't add a sentiment yet since I am not sure who this card is going to. The tulips are Pretty in Pink, Lavender Lace and Apricot Appeal. The vase is Certainly Celery and the DP is from the Shades of Spring series. Thanks for stopping by!

A Note of Thanks

Good morning! Today I have a gift for my sister, her birthday is on March 29 and I will get to visit with her during Spring Break. The box in the middle was cut with the Fancy Favor die but is a cut down version so that 3x3 cards will fit in it. I made all the cards just like the card shown but left off the sentiment. That is where the Matchbox comes in, in it I have stamped and punched out with the Modern Label punch a whole lot of different sentiments. When she is ready to give the cards she will add the proper sentiment. I have also included envelopes in the box. The flowers were made using different sizes of our circle punches, I cut in all the way around the circles, layered them and added a felt circle from the Sweet Pea Stitched Felt(click on the photo to get a closer look).

Lion Treat

Hello, hope your weekend is going good. Not much going on today, I went to church this morning and will go back tonight at 6:00. Toy is working today and it is raining outside so the girls and I are just enjoying some down time. I went to the state VBS conference yesterday and now I am all pumped for VBS so I might work on that some today. I have another treat cup card, a heart this time. I did make a mistake on this one, I stuck my cup down on the DP before punching my hole. It's not too noticeable so I didn't start over. The tree is from paper from the Sweet Pea paper pad and I just cut it out and attached it. Can you guess how I made the tail for the lion, it is from the 2 Step Bird Punch. I just cut off all the leaves except the one on the end and covered that one with a Chocolate chip leaf. I love all the uses for our punches and enjoy finding uses other than the way they were intended. This is the card I made for my nephew Jamie who will turn 26 on March 25. Jamie has Downs Syndrome and is truly a gift from God. He has never met a stranger and never forgets anyone he has ever met, not only will he remember you but he will tell you where he met you and all the details involved. I talk to him on the phone sometimes and he goes through the whole family and asks what is going on with them, I love him dearly and can't wait to see him!

Black Eyed Susan

The Black Eyed Susan is one of my favorite flowers so I had to make this after seeing one on Mary Fish's blog. I used the small and large oval, sponged the edges and placed them around the Sweet Treat Cups. Easy and fun to make, my kind of project!

Build a Bear Easter Outfit

Good morning! Today I made Dalton a little Easter basket using Build a Bear. He is wearing his Easter outfit. I am going to put a little rattle, a new pacifier, and some baby snacks in it since he is too little for chocolate. The girls suggested I put lots of chocolate and they could help him eat it but they will get more than they need from the Easter bunny!

Don't forget Sale-a-bration ends March 31 so if there anything you want from that catalog, better hurry!

Ready for Spring!!

Good morning and Happy St. Patrick's Day. I don't have a green project today, lucky to have anything since I have had Baby Dalton for 3 days. It has been fun but no stamping done! This is one of the pictures I made for Sadie's room redo. I saw a picture similar to this in a catalog for Pottery Barn Kids but it was more expensive than I was willing to pay so I made this one for about $9.00. The most expensive part was the frame which wasn't on sale, I will be on the lookout for sales next time. I used mostly scraps of paper and different texture folders and then punched them out with the SU butterfly punch. Easy peasy and she loved it!

Rag Purses

SOLD

I have 2 of these available now.
Good afternoon! The Internet has been down all day so I am late posting. Today I have 3 Rag Purses to show you. I made these using the Scallop Square die. I made a bunch of purses for The Pink Event this past weekend and had these 3 leftover. The pink one is for a little girl and has princesses and frogs on it, it was a favorite at the event. One lady bought 2 to give as gifts to the flower girls in her daughter's wedding. If you are interested in purchasing any of these, the two bigger ones are $20.00(add 2.00 if shipping is needed) and the smaller one is $12.00(add $2.00 if shipped). The straps of the larger ones is also the color of the lining, the lining of the smaller one is pale pink and the straps are made from SU extra wide pink grosgrain ribbon.

Scalloped Envelope Basket

Today I have another basket to share, this one uses the scallop envelope die. I cut 4 of them and cut one side flap off and attached them to each other, then folded the flaps in to form the bottom, added a handle and decorated. I really love how this turned out. This is another one for the Pink Event.

Have you ever felt like God puts someone in your path for a reason. I certainly got this feeling today. I went to Dillard's today to look for a pink shirt since I wanted something pink to wear to The Pink Event on Saturday. The sales lady asked if she could help me and I told her what I was looking for and why I needed it. She told me that she was a cancer survivor and as we looked at different blouses and shirts she told me a little about her story. I found what I wanted and was ready to walk off when she said she noticed the t-shirt I was wearing today, it was a t-shirt that said First Baptist Church of Harrisburg, and asked if I would pray for her. She went on to tell me that her cancer is back and that she is having surgery next week. Today was the first time I had ever seen her and the two of stood there in the middle of that store and cried together, prayed, and talked for 30 minutes. I know God put us together for a reason, I don't know for sure what the reason is or was, but I know she has left an impression on me. We hugged again as I left and I promised her to continue to pray for her, she is a christian and has complete faith that no matter the outcome of her surgery, she is in God's hands but she is also very scared.

Chocolate Bunnies

Aren't these little bunnies just the cutest! They are perfect size for the Fancy Favor bags I make. I made a bunch of these to sell at the Pink Event on Saturday March 13. Don't forget to come out and support this great cause, American Cancer Society.

Easter Cuties

I made these for my girls last year and they really enjoyed them so I made more today. Shelby has a friend who is getting a real bunny for Easter and of course she wants one too but this is as close to a bunny as she is getting. I remember too well who took care of the hermit crabs, the kitten, and the miniature turtles.

These were made using various SU punches and some of them sit up on their on and the others attach to baskets. I got the idea from this post on Splitcoast. Thanks for stopping by!

Greenhouse Garden

I got a few minutes while Dalton is sleeping to stamp...I used the stamp set Greenhouse Garden which I forgot I had so this is the first time I have used it. This is a 2 step stamp and I don't usually go for these but I like this one. I used Creamy Caramel paper and stamped the background with Creamy Caramel ink. The other colors are Rose Red, Pretty in Pink, Very Vanilla, and Chocolate Chip(in the retired DP). That's it for today!

Sweet Baby Dimples

Look at that smile, and those dimples are just the cutest. Thought I would share a photo of what has been keeping me plenty busy these days, Baby Dalton. He is 8 months old and is crawling and in to everything! I am going to invest in baby gates this weekend but I probably need a corral! We have a fireplace and he heads straight for the hearth or under the tables. He thinks the word NO is the funniest word he has ever heard. Of course he is always smiling and happy and I just can't resist those dimples. I do have a card to share but will post it a little later.

Guest Book

I played around with the paper from the Guest Book Simply Scrappin' kit yesterday and this is what I came up with. I printed the information on vellum card stock and then embossed it, it is very pretty in real life. The favor box was made with Box # 2 and the same paper. My ribbon is a little crooked because I made my holes too far apart but other than that I like how it turned out.

PS....Stampin' Up issued this message concerning the Beautiful Wings Embosslit...

Due to high demand, the Beautiful Wings Embosslits die continues to be on backorder. You can currently order this product (item 118138), but shipping may be delayed by several weeks. We are receiving shipments regularly throughout March, and filling backorders in the order they are received; however, with the high number of incoming orders for this item, it will take some time before we get caught up. We are working with our vendor to expedite additional shipments of this item.

For those of you that have ordered it recently from me, if you live close by and need to borrow mine, let me know. I'll get them out to you as soon as they become available again. Thanks for your patience.

Easter Blessings

Quick post today, the gastrointestinal flu bug has hit our house and I have lots of bedding and towels to wash as well as a major sanitizing job before the baby gets here this morning. The worst part is that this is ISAT testing week and Shelby hates to miss on those days because that means she has to bring home a lot of extra classwork when she goes back to school.

Today I have a card using the Abundant Hope set from the Occasions mini. The colors are pale plum, old olive and whisper white.
