Easel Drawer Tutorial
If any of my directions are not clear feel free to email me with any questions you might have I have really enjoyed making these and will be making more when I get my little calendars for 2010. I used card stock for the easel and the drawer and then added Designer paper in certain areas.
You will need the following :
4x4 cardstock for the front of easel
4x8 cardstock scored at 2inches and 4 inches for the easel
4x11 cardstock scored at 1 1/8, 2 2/8, 6 3/8, 7 1/4 for the band around the drawer
6x6 cardstock for the drawer scored at 1 inch on all four sides
Designer paper cut to fit the areas where you want to use it
A button or brad to act as a stop for the easel and one for the drawer if desired
Cut and score all your pieces.
For the drawer cut in to the score line on one end, flip to opposite side and do the same(you will have 4 cuts with nothing being cut away).
Trim away just a sliver from these flaps to make it easier to adhere.
Use sticky strip tape on the flaps, fold all score lines and form the box.
Next fold on the score lines for the band, lay the formed box inside the band and fold around the box to find where to add the adhesive(you won't line up with the edge). I used sticky strip here as well since you will be pulling on this to open the drawer.
The front of the easel (4x4 piece) will be glued to the easel with the bottom edges lined up . You will want to have it completely decorated before adhering to the easel.
Next add your stop, I used a button brad here. You want to place it 2 inches from the bottom edge and 2 inches from the side. You can then add anything else to the easel that you want, I added a 3 3/4 x 2 piece of red card stock here. The last step is to add the easel to the top of your covered drawer, I used sticky strip again. The bottom portion of the easel is 4x4 and should fit perfectly on your 4x4 covered drawer.

Thankful Thoughts of You
Good afternoon, hope your Saturday is a good one. Today I have an easel card attached to a little drawer. I saw one similar here. I think hers are really pretty but I didn't want to have to buy a pdf so I came up with my own and I am not sure if they are exactly the same or not. These are so easy to make but I must warn you they are addictive, I have made 8 now using different papers and stamps. Have a wonderful weekend.

Thankful Thoughts
For todays card I used the stamp set, Branching Out, and some retired SU paper. The sentiment is from the stamp set, Grateful Greetings from the Holiday Mini. Thanks for stopping by.

Eat, Drink, and be Scary
We have been to several birthday parties this month and still have a few more to go to, so I made up several of these cute gift bags using the Build-a-Bear die and the Kooky Spooky die. My girls love them and their friends have too. These really go together quick, I just used a brown lunch bag and covered it with Basic Black on both sides. I used scraps from other projects to cut out the pumpkin costume. I have some with the Santa outfit already made which I will show you later. Thanks for stopping by!

Friend of a Friend
I have a friend who has a friend who is pregnant with her first baby and my friend asked me to come up with a few things for her baby shower. The baby is a boy and the husband works for the railroad and collects trains so this is one of the ideas I had. I sent her this one and a couple more ideas and she emailed me last night that she wants me to make 120 boxes and 100 cards to be used as birth announcements. Boy, was I surprised, I thought she just wanted ideas, not for me to make them. Guess I better get cranking. Almost forgot, the stamp set on the card is called Teddy and Train and I used Kraft card stock as the base, So Saffron for the DP, Close to Cocoa for the ink, and Bashful Blue and Very Vanilla for the other card stock. The box was cut using Box # 2 die and I don't know the name of the paper, I cut it up before looking at the name of it.
You can click on the picture to see the detail better since I didn't take a close up photo.

Old Olive or Kiwi Kiss?
I know you didn't come here to hear me complain so on to my card...this a card very similar to one that I posted sometime earlier. I did change it up a little by adding the Old Olive striped ribbon, now is it just me or does this ribbon appear to be more Kiwi Kiss than Old Olive? I used Kiwi Kiss on this card and it definitely match better than the Old Olive.
We had a very cold soccer game today and the field was terribly muddy. Sadie is such a little diva and she tiptoed through the mud to get to the field and then was conscious every step she made during the game. Needless to say she didn't score any points today. You have to click on her picture to see the look on her face, it is funny. She is the one with the pink hair.

CAS Punch Ornament
Today is another Christmas card using the ornament punch. I embossed it first with the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder and then punched it out. The card base is embossed using the Finial Press folder. The flower centers are colored in with a Real red marker. This was a quick and easy card but I think it has a touch of elegance about it. Thanks for stopping by.

Warmest Holiday Wishes
I am posting really late today but lots going on all day, I had to prep a few kit orders after church(thanks Lou and Joyce) and Baby Dalton is cutting teeth plus has a little bit of a cold so he has needed to be held a lot the past two days. Both my girls are gone for the night to a sleepover and my house is way too quiet, they are only 3 houses down the street but this is the first one Sadie has been to so it's likely I may end up picking her up at bedtime. They are only away from me 2 nights a year...their grandparents come to visit from Alabama and they spend the night with them at a motel for their birthday and again sometime in Dec. for Christmas. Ok, on to the card, this is the 3rd in my series using the Holiday Lounge paper and the Merry and Bright rub-ons. It's hard to tell but the red ornament is punched out of the top layer and the rub-on is actually on the inside of the card. Now I do have the Movers and Shakers die but I used the ornament punch on this card since it was kind of an afterthought but with the die you could place it anywhere. I also embossed the Top Note. Hope you like it, see you tomorrow.
ps..don't forget about my Christmas Jingle class on Oct. 31, if you are interested you need to order the kit from me by Oct 15. Here is a link to the information about the class.

The More the Merrier
Good evening, hope your Saturday has been good. Today I am sharing another card to go along with the one from yesterday using the DP, Holiday Lounge, and the Merry & Bright rub-ons. These rub-on were made to use with the Holiday punch which is in the Holiday Mini and seems to be very popular. The snowmen are from a Level 3 hostess set, The More the Merrier. Also, a reminder about my upcoming class, Christmas Jingle, where we will make 40 projects for $10.00 plus the cost of the Christmas Jingle Simply Scrappin' Kit. If you haven't already ordered your kit, please do so soon so you will have it when the class starts on October 30. Remember, my on-line customers can join in the fun as well.

MTSC #42 Warmth & Love
Good morning! Last night I worked on a set of Christmas cards using the DP, Holiday Lounge. For this card, I used a sketch challenge which is something I need to be often because a lot of the work is done for you. This one was Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge # 42 which can be found here: http://lordhavemercy-mercykerin.blogspot.com/2009/10/mercys-tuesday-sketch-challenge-42.html.
To be honest when I saw this paper in the catalog I thought that is not for me but I ordered it anyway since I needed Christmas paper. Last night was the first time I had looked at it and I have to say I love it! It has rich, elegant colors along with more subdued colors and in combination they are beautiful. I don't know if you can see but the red circle is embossed using the Perfect Details embossing plate on page 195 of the SU catalog. I added pearls to make it pop a little more. The sentiment is from the Merry & Bright rub-ons in the Holiday Mini. No stamping at all on this card but I really like how it turned out

Note Cards
Good evening, I am posting later than usual today, been a very busy but productive day. I had several kits to get together and mail out plus I did a little more than my usual house cleaning today. The girls wanted to put out some Halloween decorations and it is kinda hard to set them out on top of a layer of dust! My card today is a note card measures 4.25 x 4.25 and I made several sets of these(six to a set) for someone to give as a gift to co-workers. I thought they turned out so cute, I made a set for myself! If you would like to purchase some of these let me know, they are $3.50 without envelope or $4.00 with envelope(if need to be mailed add $1.00 for mailing). I did use retired papers on this one but if you have a favorite paper or color you can choose it.

Peace Love Joy
I bought this Medallion background stamp when the catalog first came out but hadn't even mounted it until recently. I don't why I hadn't used it before because I love it! This one I stamped in Versamark and embossed in white and really like how it turned out. The DP is actually more red IRL (we have had rain and clouds all day so none of my photos are turning out the right color) and the card base is So Saffron. Thanks for stopping by.

Make Merry
Good Monday morning! Today I have a card with a punch snowman, made using the Curly Label punch punched once in Whisper White and then in Night of Navy(I know it looks black but I had really hard time photographing this card, that's reason for green background, ugh!) and then Night of Navy cut in half to make hat. I used the word window punch for the brim of the hat. The snowflake embossing gives it a wintry feel. The sentiment is from the stamp set Berry Christmas.
Thanks to all who left comments on the Blog Candy, congrats to Magda. Magda, your goodies are on their way.

*JOY*
I found the inspiration for this card at a blog I visit sometimes called The Stamping Schach and had to make one. Her card is somewhat different but still the same stamps set and paper. You have to click on this photo to see all the detail, the brown ornament is cut out, embossed, and popped up. The stamp set is called Tree Trimming and the paper is from Merry Moments which is the third pack I have used, I ordered 4 packs and I will probably have to order more since this is only October and I have several events before Christmas. The sentiment is from a retired stamp set. I also used the Petals a Plenty embossing folder and added brads from the Circle Fire collection. I will be back later today to pick a winner for the Blog Candy so if you haven't left a comment, you still have time.
Also, don't forget to check out the Deal of the Week and the Clearance Rack on my website. Robin and Jayne found a bargain there, thanks ladies!
Both my younger girls have birthdays this weekend, Shelby is 11 today and Sadie will be 6 tomorrow. They will have friend birthday parties later in the month but we will have a family celebration today. This is a picture of Shelby, isn't she beautiful(I had just woke her up in this picture and her is a mess but still beautiful!). God sure blessed our lives by sending them to us. Sure, there are days I think this old woman will not make it, but it is all worth it!! I love them soooo much.

All Treats, No Tricks!
I am offering a "kit" for October, I didn't do one last month because I just didn't have time but since so many of you asked for one this month I put one together. For October I have 3 treat projects using the Fancy Favor box, the Box #2, and the Top Note with a cellophane treat bag. Here is what you will get: all the precut card stock and designer paper to make all three projects, the Sticky Tape will already be on the two that require it but other than that they will be unassembled, the cellophane bag for the Top Note treat, any punched elements already punched. You will not get any pre-stamped images but will get a piece of extra coordinating card stock to use for stamping. The designer paper may be different from what is shone in photograph but will be from the same package of the ones shown, you may request certain papers from these and I will try to accommodate. The papers used are Black and White Specialty on the Box # 2 and Cast a Spell on the other two. The cost for all three is only $3.50 if picked up or $4.50 if mailed.
Don't forget to leave a comment on the Blog Candy I am giving away on Saturday, just scroll down to find it.
