Happy Hunting

I don't have but one Easter stamp set so I thought I would try creating an Easter scene. I used the stamp set, Inspired by Nature, to make the grass and brads for the eggs, the rabbit is a button, and the butterflies are from the Branch Out set. The colors are So Saffron and Certainly Celery, my new faves. Hope you like it! Make sure you check back tomorrow for the start of blog candy.

Christ is Risen!

I accidentally chose a small picture to upload but to see it larger you can click on the picture.
Isn't that the most wonderful message...We can serve a living Christ...who died for us but who now lives eternally just like we will if we are willing to accept him as our Lord and Savior. My son, Seth, asked for forgiveness this past Sunday and now has the assurance that he will live eternally in Heaven.

This card is in honor of Seth, I am so excited to see what God has in store for him as he becomes a father in the near future. Thanks be to God for this blessing.

I don't know if you can tell but the black on this card is embossed with one of the new Stampin' Up embossing plates. The stamp is from Our Daily Bread. The daisy's are a sizzix die cut also from Stampin' Up. This is one of the projects for my stamp camp tomorrow. Hope you like it.

A2 card box

Our youth department at church is doing a fund raiser and asked all the Sunday School classes to put together a themed basket which will be sold at a silent auction. Our WOM-women on mission-group is putting together a basket and we were asked to use our talent or our specialty to come up with an item for the basket, so of course I said I would make some cards. I made a box which is what I am showing you today and added 4 cards for different occasions to the box. I'll show you the cards tomorrow.

True Friend

This is a little box I made using the Top Note die. The butterfly is also an exclusive Stampin' Up die by Sizzix.

Thoughts and Prayers

Do you have to have a reason to stamp? Sometimes I have to have a need for a card before I can really get motivated. All day I sat here thinking I need to make a card and searched all the blogs I usually visit but did not feel inspired to make anything. Then, I picked up our local paper and saw that a friend's mother had passed away and I knew I had to make a card. Here is what I came up with...I used chocolate chip for the base, then a layer of baja breeze, and then Parisian breeze dp. I cut the large scallop with nestibilites. The stamp set is Thoughts and Prayers. I didn't realize how crooked this photo looks until I uploaded it, I must have had the camera at an angle.

Simple Thoughts and Prayers

Before I get to my card I have some news hot off the press...Starting July 1 Stampin' Up will revert to one catalog a year instead of two...YEAH!!! They will have several minis each year but only one catalog.
Now to my card for today, I used the set Thoughts and Prayers which I really like. I like to send cards to people who I know are going through a trying time and this card set is just perfect. I didn't want to take away from the message I was sending with the card by adding a lot of stuff...designer papers, embellishment..instead I want the recipient to focus on the words of the card and to know they are sincere.

Mojo74 Buzzin by

Today's card is for yesterday's MoJo monday challenge. I like this card except for the blurred circle image below the ribbon. I was proud of my little shaker circle which has a honey bee and a white flower just like the ones on the dp until I tried to photograph it. The plastic dome of the shaker causes a glare and you can't see what is inside it. Anyway, that's all I have for today.

Easter Wishes

The inspiration for this card comes from a card on a blog called Stamping with Tosh I think was the name of it. The photograph doesn't do this card justice, it it quite pretty even if I did make it. I used the textured cover weight specialty paper from Stampin' up, Parisian Breeze and the cross is from Verve.

Shelby is a Winner!

Shelby is in fourth grade and for the past two years at school the Valentine's Day parties have been very low key, not much other than exchange of Valentines. But this year was definitely different, they go to decorate Valentine boxes and have parties. Shelby decorated hers like it was an animal shelter and listed 10 ways to show LOVE to an animal in a shelter. She used little animals from her Little Pet Shop toys and covered the top and put little tags on some of them with cute sayings on them. She was very surprised to win first place and the prize was a giant candy kiss. On Saturday she had a basketball game and scored 20 points. In case you can't tell, I am very proud of my girls!

Trendy Trees

I just love this stamp set! One of my favorites that retired with the new catalog was a Tree for All Seasons so I am glad they gave us some new trees to play with. If you don't already own a Stamp-a-ma-jig, you may want to get one to use with this set--and I just happen to be offering a discount on them. With the purchase of $50.00 before taxes and shipping, you will get a free Sale-a-bration stamp set and you can order the stamp-a-ma-jig from me at half price. Several of the new stamps require a stamp-a-ma-jig so you will get lots of use from it.

For this card my base is Kiwi Kiss, then a layer of Chocolate Chip, and then a layer of designer paper from the Good Morning Sunshine collection. You may not be able to tell from the photograph but the middle tree is raised up on dimensionals. The ribbon is Chocolate Chip taffeta.

A Little Somethin'

I feel much better today. This is a little something I made for Shelby's teachers for Valentines Day. I made it using the Box#2 die from Stampin' up and was so easy to do. It is basically cutting it and folding on the score lines and one small piece of red line tape. I used the Parisian Breeze Specialty paper, which is cover weight card stock and is perfect for boxes . I didn't photograph the inside of the box but it is pretty too since the paper is double sided. I fit 3 truffles in each box, hope they like them. I have stamped several projects today but can't show them until after my Technique class on Saturday. Thanks for stopping by.

Teacher Valentine

I got the teacher valentines all done this weekend since this week is going to be super hectic. I am the chairman for Sadie's Valentine party and have to make treats for Shelby's plus the other million things on my to-do list. I get my first big catalog order today--so you know what I'll be doing tonight. This card uses the Teacher's Apple set from PaperTrey and all Stampin' Up papers and ink. Since I don't sew and don't even own a needle, I used thin strips of paper to thread through the button.
Also, don't forget about Sale-a-bration. Now is the time to place at least a $50.00 order so you can take advantage of a free stamp set. You can order online at http://stampthenightaway.stampin.net or contact me at dls8383@gmail.com .
If you have thought about becoming a demonstrator, now is the time to do that since Stampin' Up is offering the kit at a special price plus I am offering a special discount and 5 stampin pads and a stamp set of your choice from the new catalog to anyone who signs up with me from now until March 31.

My Valentine

Sadie's teacher gave them a big heart die cut and they were supposed to decorate it and the parents were supposed to write something about the child in the middle. Sadie loves any opportunity to get into my stamp room and use my "stuff". She loves to use punches and of course the 3 heart punch was perfect. She was so proud of her finished product. I think I have a future stamper on my hands.

Nursery Necessities

Today's post is a card made by the Stampin' Up set "Nursery Necessities". I used the Delicate Dots paper again available in the Sale-a-bration brochure, you can probably tell I really like this paper. My inspiration for this card comes from one done by Kelly Lunsford.

Libby's Little Addiction: From Courtney's Closet #29 - a birthday celebration!! Check out this blog--some awesom blog candy here as well as a card challenge.

It's a Boy!

Sorry for not posting the last few days but things have been a little crazy around here. But the best part is we got to go see the baby on ultrasound yesterday and it is a boy! I took the girls out of school half a day and we all three wore pink and when we got there Danielle and her sister both wore pink. We didn't plan it but we were all thinking the same thing, if we wore pink we might just get a boy and it worked! I was praying the whole way over to the doctor that everything would be good because I don't think Danielle would have been able to take hearing bad news again. Last time she had no clue anything was wrong and to be told that the baby was dead was devastating to her and all of us. Everything was perfect on the ultrasound, God answered many prayers today.

Ok, on to the card for today. I used the Always stamp set with papers from the Sale-a-bration brochure. I really like how So Saffron and Blue Bliss look together. More tomorrow.
