Keepsake Ornament

Good Sunday afternoon!  I don't usually post on Sunday but since the month ended today I needed to get the word out to a few of you concerning the October calendar.  We will have Technique class Monday Oct. 1(tomorrow).  I have the October calendar almost ready to send out, just waiting on confirmation of one thing that I need to pass on to you.  Since I am posting here is a Christmas card from my last Christmas card class using the Ornament framelit die. Let me know if you have questions or don't get your calendar.  Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Blessings

Good morning!  I have another card today from my monthly Christmas card class.  For this one I combined papers from three different collections, one is from a retired collection.  The holly was made with the Gumball Green Core'dinations card stock and then embossed and sanded.  There are three colors of Core'dinations card stock in the Holiday Mini. Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, and  Gumball Green and you get 12 sheets of 12x12 for only $6.95.  To get the distressed look, you just  lightly sand the paper.  Thanks for stopping by!

Snowflake Soiree

Good morning!  I am having a Christmas class today and this is one of the choices.  All white cards are very hard to photograph but hopefully you can see it well enough.  The snowflake is from the Snowflake Soiree set and I added a little Dahlia to the middle.  The ribbon is "FREE" right now with a minimum $40.00 order and you can choose from the five new In Colors.  Thanks for stopping by!

Snow Flurry

Good morning!  Today I have a card using the Bigz Snow Flurry Die from the Holiday Mini.  I really like that this die has three sizes of snowflakes, I only used two of them here because I wanted to add a couple of buttons to the middle.  Speaking of buttons, aren't these Brushed Bronze buttons gorgeous.  The DSP is from the Candlelight Christmas collection and the card stock is Early Espresso and Very Vanilla.  Thanks for stopping by!

Toxic Treats

Good morning!  Today I have a cute treat for Halloween using the Toxic Treats stamp set.  I have to tell you a funny story about these treats.   My stamping space is located in my husbands office building where he teaches classes in coal mining.  He is forever more coming in and taking the candy I have to use when I make treats even from the ones that are already made.  I noticed these hadn't been touched and they had been made for over a week. So I asked him about it.  He said well I read on there they were toxic, eat at your own risk and I was afraid to eat them.  Ha!  Now all I need is a "toxic" stamp for every occasion.  Thanks for stopping by!

Biggg Truck

Good monday morning!  Today I have a biggggg truck that I made for Dalton, every time we see one of these on the road he says "bigggg truck" so when I found a cricut cartridge with "boy toys"on it I had to buy it.  He loves it of course.  I cut out two and sandwiched them between a Fancy Favor box so he could put some of his little toy trucks in it.  Thanks for stopping by!

Fall Gratitude

Good afternoon!  I am loving our Fall weather and it puts me in the mood for pumpkins and such.  Today's card was very quick and easy to put together.  The colors from the DSP Howlstooth and Scaringbone are gorgeous plus I just love the name.  I will be going to a craft show at Cave in Rock tomorrow and Saturday so I probably won't post again until Monday.  Thanks for stopping by!

Time Well Spent

In this photo he has almost made it to the top of the "mountain".
This is my favorite pic from the whole day.  He was taking a little break.

Here he is saying, "no more pictures".

Good afternoon!  Today has been an absolutely beautiful day!  It started out a little cool so Dalton and I stayed home and caught up on laundry but at noon we'd had  enough of that.  We packed up and headed to the park for the afternoon.  He had a blast as you can tell in the photos.  It bothers me that he is growing up so fast so I am trying to capture as many good times as we can before he goes to Pre-K next year.

I do have a stamping project to share as well.  This is the first time i have used the Mitten Punch although it was on my first order from the new catalog.  I simply forgot i had it and almost ordered a second one.  I really like it so you will be seeing more use soon. The DSP is from the Festival of Prints DSP stack, it has a lot of very pretty coordinating designs in it.  Thanks for stopping by!

Lego Birthday

Good afternoon!  Today's card is one we made last week at my monthly punch class.  My Dalton loves Lego's, he will sit for hours and build and tear apart and then rebuild.  He likes all sizes but he especially likes the smaller ones and usually has a few in his pocket.  When he saw this card he tried to take the Lego's off .  I am busy preparing for another craft show this weekend, I enjoy them but they really take a lot of work.  Thanks for stopping by!

Grateful Heart

Good morning!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend, mine was super busy with a craft fair, the Apple Festival.  There was lots of people and they were buying even though we had a little rain.  I took the girls with me on Saturday and they had a blast, I think we tasted every apple item in the Apple Bakery plus all the other fair foods.  Today's project is a little board book that I found while cleaning out one of my cabinets.  I decided to make it into a blessing book....every Thanksgiving after we eat and everyone is still at the table we take turns writing down something that has blessed our lives that year.  It is fun to look back and see what everyone wrote from the years before as well.  Thanks for stopping by!

The Eyes Have It

Good morning!  Today I have a couple of "spooky" creations to share, they are both inspired from things I have seen on Pinterest.....I don't know "who" or "where" I saw them and I am too busy  lazy to go in search of them again to leave links.  I thought these would work as Halloween cards(which I don't usually send) and Halloween treats or for someone who has a birthday on or around Halloween.  The alien's have a peppermint patty in the middle.  Thanks for stopping by!

Frightening Feline

Good morning!  I think this little cat image is adorable and not frightening at all.  I used Howlstooth and Scaringbone DSP along with Basic Black, Very Vanilla, and Tangerine Tango card stock.  The sentiment is from Toxic Treats stamp set.

I have had a few emails about the Cannery Class, I am working on my calendar for next month but am trying to work out a few scheduling conflicts so I will let you know as soon as possible.

Merry

Good morning!  I took a break from Halloween and Fall projects to participate in a challenge yesterday which was to make a Christmas card with this sketch.   It is from the Always Playing with Paper blog

I decided to flip the sketch around and use a circle rather than an oval.  I used my favorite Christmas color combo, Cherry Cobbler and Always Artichoke.  The DSP is from the Festival of Prints paper stack in the Holiday Mini catalog.  Thanks for stopping by.

Angry Bird Birthday

Good Monday morning, hope you had a wonderful weekend!  I had a request for birthday party favors for a little boy who loves the Angry Birds game and I had no idea how to go about making it so I turned to Pinterest for help.  There was tons of ideas and I used bits and pieces from several to come up with my version.  The bird on the card and the one on the favor are different but he was ok with that.  I even found Angry Bird cookies(little graham crackers actually) shaped like all the birds.  The box has pictures of all the birds so for the next ones I make, I will attempt to make all of them.  He was pleased with just this one though.  Thanks for stopping by!

Perfectly Preserved Birthday

Good afternoon! Today I have another card using the Perfectly Preserved stamp set and the Cannery edgelet dies.  I found some very old DSP with apples on it and thought it would be perfect for the apple image in this set.  The other DSP is from the  Polkadot Parade collection.  Thanks for stopping by!

Perfectly Preserved

Good morning!  I am very glad today is Friday, it has been an exhausting week.  The girls have had to be somewhere everyday after school and Dalton has been just plain naughty all week.  Have I told you how much I am enjoying the Cannery Framelits and the Perfectly Preserved stamp set.  For this card I used the Orchard Harvest DSP and Island Indigo card stock.  I have had several request for a class using this set and this card is one of the projects.  If you are interested in the class contact me for the details.  It will be free to those who have already bought the Perfectly Preserved Bundle as well as anyone who orders it before the class.  Thanks for stopping by!

Wicked Cool

Good morning!  Today I have another Halloween treat idea to share.  I found these little tins on clearance last year and bought them knowing i would find a use for them.  The lid is clear so I added a stamped circle and then a small strip of DSP around the side.  I think I will add candy corn  to them.  I used the Wicked Cool stamp set.  Thanks for stopping by!

French Foliage

Don't you just love the colors of Fall.  I get homesick for the Kentucky mountains every Fall.   If you haven't seen the turning of the leaves there, you have really missed one of God's most beautiful canvases.  I made this card for my Technique Group 1 last night.  The colors are Always, Artichoke, More mustard, and Cajun Craze.  My inspiration came from a similar card done by Ann Shach.  Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Pumpkins

Good morning!  Aren't these little purses cute, they were featured in Stampin Success which is a magazine SU puts out for demonstrators every month.  The purses were cut with the Petite Purse die and I cut the faces with a Sizzix die I found on clearance.  I also wanted to share with you  a special for this month.  If you purchase $40.00 in SU products you can choose a spool of ribbon for FREE!

You can choose any one of the five new In Color 3/8 inch Stitched Satin spools for each $40.00 spent.  I order every Friday so let me know if you are interested.  thanks for stopping by.

Oops   I forgot to hit the publish button yesterday for this post so I guess you will see two posts for today.

Why? But Why??

Good evening!  Today's post title has to do with the conversation at dinner tonight which went something like this...Dalton eat your carrots.  Why?  Because they are good for you.  No, they are orange.  Ok, eat your corn.  Why?  Because corn is yellow.  Why?  Because God made it that way.  Sponge Bob is yellow.  God didn't make Sponge Bob.  Why?  Dalton, eat your chicken.  Is it yellow.  No.  Why?  There is never a dull moment with that boy!  I have been working on a lot of Fall and Halloween things since I have a couple of craft shows coming up.  I saw these witches hats somewhere last year but can't remember where.  I thank whomever came up with the idea, they are cute and easy to make. I used the Petal Cone die, the Scallop Circle die, and the Spider Web embossing folder along with some retired DP.  They have 2 candy nuggets  wrapped in DP behind the hat.  Thanks for stopping by!

Candlelight Christmas

Good evening!  Hope your weekend is going good, I decided mine was going to be a restful one and i even took a short nap today.  This card is one of the ones from my last class.  I love the DSP, Candlelight Christmas which is what I used here.  It coordinates with Real Red, Lucky Limeade, and Early Espresso.  I wanted to use the Holiday Frame embossing folder but then there wouldn't be much room for the DSP so I embossed a piece of Very Vanilla and then cut out an oval. The ornament is from a retired set.  Thanks for stopping by!
