Scentsational Season

Good morning!  I love this card, it turned out exactly like what I had in mind(except that the Framelit piece isn't "exactly" centered!).  Believe me that doesn't happen often for me!  My favorite punch right now is the 1 1/4 Scallop Circle Punch which is what I used to make the Lucky Limeade part of the sentiment.  This card would be perfect to include with a gift such as coffee or cocoa or even tea.  Gotta run, my today has way more on the list than can be accomplished.

Happy Birthday To You

Good afternoon!  I sneaked away a bit this morning to start my Christmas shopping, it was a very pleasant experience.  I can't deal with the big crowds on the most popular shopping days, it just makes me frustrated and I like to have time to browse and look instead of being pushed along with the crowd.  Anyway, I do have a project to share.  This is a birthday card made as part of a special order for someone who likes turtles.  I was going to attempt a punch turtle but ran short on time so inked this little guy up instead.  I think about everything on this card is retired product but that doesn't bother me and it for sure didn't matter to the recipient.  Thanks for stopping by!

Snow Much Fun

Good Monday morning!  Today's project is a card using the stamp set Snow Much Fun.  I haven't used this set much this year so far and I needed a quick card so I pulled it out.  I am also trying to use up some scraps and was able to use all leftovers on this card.  Lots going on today, so gotta run!

My Sweet Boy

Good morning!  I didn't get any "crafty" pictures taken yesterday so I thought I would share one from my phone of the "man" I love.  My sweet Dalton loves dress up right now, today he was Woody from Toy Story.  Yesterday he asked if I would take him to buy a Power Ranger, so I took him down the aisle with the action figures in search of one and he said "No, I want to BE a Power Ranger with a mask and a sword".  He promised he wouldn't use the sword on Sadie but it took three time outs with the sword for him to keep his promise.  I love this little guy sooooo much!

Santa Ornaments

Good morning!  Hope you had a wonderfully blessed Thanksgiving, I certainly did.  I had all five of my kids home plus my Dalton and got to talk with my brother and two of my sisters(the other one was out shopping when I called her).

My project for today is a cute Santa(belly) ornament that I have been seeing around for a couple years.  They are made from the clear ornaments you find at craft stores, just add Pledge floor wax/Future Shine to the inside, drain, add glitter, and decorate the outside.  I found these tiny clear balls so had to give them a try as well.  I didn't notice that they were iridescent until I got them home which makes the glitter look a little different but they are still cute.  Thanks for stopping by!

Santa's Sleigh

Good morning!  Today's project will be one of the choices of my upcoming Bags & Tags class.  The sleigh was cut with a Sizzix die and then I added a few gifts made with the 1 inch square punch and the the Blossom punch.  Here is a close up of the tag, I used the Snowflake die and cut it with Silver Glimmer Paper.  The rosette is made from Be of Good Cheer DSP, a 1 1/4 scallop circle of Gumball Green, a 1 inch circle of Cherry Cobbler, and the sentiment is a 3/4 inch circle stamped from the Mixed Medley set.  The ribbon is Cherry Cobbler 3 1/4 inch Scalloped Tulle Ribbon.

The bottom of the bag is covered with Wool Felt and I added some chunky glitter to make it look like snow drifts but the sleigh ended up covering most of it up.  The top layer is DSP from Snow Festival.

More Mittens

Good morning!  Today I have another mitten card to share.  I saw a card with this same design on Pinterest but with non SU products so I decided to make it using Stampin Up.  I love how it turned out!  I used some non-traditional colors(even some Halloween DSP) which is out of my comfort zone but the addition of the Cherry Cobbler made the difference.  The Mitten builder Punch will not carry over from the Holiday Mini catalog so if it is on your list, you better get it before Jan 3.  Thanks for stopping by!

Winter Memories

Good morning!  Today I have one of the cards from my next Christmas card class (also my last one  for 2012).  The stamp is from the Winter Memories set.  I love all the images in this set but knew the amount of coloring involved would make using this image less attractive to some of my ladies.  So, I did a second card with just a little coloring.

Now, I don't know which one I like the most.  I am leaning toward  the second one which just might be the card I make as my family Christmas card.  Thanks for stopping by!

Merry Deer Season

Good morning!  It is deer season in Southern Illinois and it was very obvious last evening, I went to the grocery store after Church and it was packed with men in camouflage.  I thought only women blocked gathered in the isles to talk, it was kind of funny to see  what they were buying too.   So, I was inspired to make a masculine Christmas card and of course it had to include a deer.  I used DSP from the Festival of Prints Paper Stack long with the deer image from Winter Post stamp set.  Thanks for stopping by!

Single Stamps

Good morning!  Do you ever see a stamp set and fall in love with one particular image but just don't care for the whole set?  Well Stampin' Up now has some single image stamps available.  They are only available until Jan 3rd so check them out.  Would be awesome stocking stuffers.

I'll be back later with a card to show you, I can't seem to get my act together very well this week.

Gratitude

Good afternoon!  Yesterday I had a pleasant surprise from a friend, she stopped by and was telling me about some Amish bread she had a starter for and offered me a starter.  When she returned a little later, she brought this bag with a beautiful card and two loaves of bread, two starters, recipes, and even the bags to divide my starter into.  The friends I have made through Stampin' Up are by far the best part of it.  We don't have any family closer than an 8 hour drive so I treasure every one of my stamping friends.  Thank you, Elaine, you made my day!

I got busy right away making a Thank You card for my awesome gift.  Thanks for stopping by!

Elegant Bird

Good Monday morning!  Hope you had a wonderful weekend, mine was full but good.  Last night I helped our GA(Girls in Action) group at church make these Elegant Bird ornaments.  We have been making ornaments that we will sell to raise money to donate to the Lottie Moon offering which funds Missions.  It was a lot of fun but loud, lots of girls all talking at once.  I took my Big shot and let them do everything from cutting out the bird to embossing and stamping the tag.  Some have crooked wings and the stamping isn't perfect but that is ok.  Thanks for stopping by!

Watercolor Winter

Good morning!  I am on a quest to use every stamp set that I have bought recently and not yet.  Today's project is with the stamp set Watercolor Winter and I bought it for this lovey poinsettia image.  I am more of a traditional red and green person as Christmas colors but decided to try the pinks and blues for this one.  I had to throw in the red though and found a piece of retired DSP which helped with the color combo.  The card front is embossed using the Holiday Frame folder which is only available until January 2.  Thanks for stopping by!

ps.....I had an email about gift certificates for Christmas yesterday.  I do have gift certificates available in any amount.

Angel Tree

Good morning!  Our church always does an Angel Tree and I have made the angels for the past 8 years.  I consider it not only an honor but a blessing to be able to do this.  I had bought a die a few years ago and we have used it every year but this year I wanted something a bit different so where else but Pinterest to find something.  My angel is a combination of several I saw on Pinterest.  I used the Scallop circle die for the body and the doily from the Perfect Pennants die for the arms.  The wings are made with the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz die.  The head is a 1 1/4 inch circle punch.   There is a tag on the back attached with a ribbon, this is where we put the child's number and a list of the needs and wants for that child.  We use pink and blue tags to distinguish between boys and girls.  I had better get busy, I have a "few" of these to make.  Thanks for stopping by!

Perfectly Preserved Cherries

Good evening!  Today I have a little gift set made using the cherry image from Perfectly Preserved and the jar from the coordinating Framelit Dies.  My friend, Chris, gave me some fabric with cherries on it and I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it.  The next step was to find something to go in the jar, Sour Cherry candy was the perfect choice.  Thanks for stopping by!

O Christmas Tree

Good morning, make sure you vote today!  Today's project is a paper tree, well actually Styrofoam and paper.  It is 12 inches tall and will go perfectly with the one I made last year that was 18 inches.  I used the DSP from  a retired Scrappin Kit, cut it into 1/2 x 4 inch strips and attached them to the cone with straight pins.  It was a little time consuming but I love how it turned out.  Thanks for stopping by!

Heartfelt Thanks

Good afternoon!  I would like to thank all the folks who stopped by my booth at the Heritage Festival this past weekend, I had an awesome time.  Now, it is back to working toward the next one since i sold about everything I had.  Today I have a Fall card using one of the leaves from the Leaves #2 die.  I sponged it with Old Olive Cajun Craze, and Dafodil Delight.  I added a piece of Houndstooth and Scaringbone DSP and a layer of embossed Very  Vanilla and the base is Tangerine Tango.  Thanks for stopping by!

Jingle All the Way

Good morning!  Thanks for all the emails yesterday, I am glad you liked my little turkeys, they are fun.  Today I have a simple ornament using a wooden spool.  I had a bunch of bells left from another project and needed to use them.  I threaded the bell on a piece of floral wire, then through the spool and looped it at the top.  I added a piece of DSP and a bow and it was done.  Thanks for stopping by!

Turkey Time

Good morning! Whew!  I can't believe it is November already, I think October whooped me bad.  I had so much going on with birthdays and everything else that I can't remember when I slept more that 4-5 hours last.  And of course, Halloween had to go out with a boom, we were returning home after Trunk or Treat at church and had a little accident.  My husband and I both drove and I pulled in the driveway first and when we got out of the car, Dalton was running to meet Papa and fell and cut his hand.  We ended up at the ER to get glued back together.

I have a craft show this weekend, it is one that I have gone to for several years and my customers expect certain things to be there.  These little turkey favors are always popular.  I will have several versions but this one is my favorite.  I don't remember where I saw these, it would have been at least two years ago and I change it a little each time.  I used the Scalloped Circle punch to create the tail feathers, the one inch punch for the face, and the waddle is made from a small heart and then put a scalloped circle back in and take a bite out.  The head and tail feathers are sandwiched between a wrapped chocolate nugget.  Thanks for stopping by!
