Rock-a-Bye-Baby

When I saw this DP in the Good Neighbors paper pad, it reminded me of water but I still didn't know what I was going to use it with. Then I saw a baby card while blog surfing and knew what I wanted to do with it. I used the Nursery Necessities stamp set and the card stock colors are Taken with Teal, Real Red, Brilliant Blue, and Whisper White. The inspiration for this card was from Stamping 4 Sanity. If you are wondering why so many baby cards lately, I have been asked by the owner of a Baby Store in Alabama to supply her with a variety of baby cards to sell in her store. Since most of her business is from people buying gifts she needs cards to go along with the gift. Now, I can't show you all of them yet until she gets a chance to preview and buy the ones she wants. I have sent her 2 different batches to preview, this one was from the first batch and I am happy to say it was a winner! If you have a need for specialty cards, let me know and I will be glad to send you a price list.

Lots of Pink

Well, I am out of pink paper until Mr. Brown gets here and that won't be until Monday. I have been busy getting ready for an upcoming Cancer Fundraiser, the Pink Event, so lots of pink items already made and few more in mind before March 13. This is a little basket made using the Top Note die. I cut four and cut two of them up, sponged the edges with Pretty in Pink ink and glued them on the other Top Note. I used a cut down version of the Fancy Favor die for the middle. I will fill this with some raffia and some Easter candy items but that means a trip to Walmart but there is no time for that today. Thanks for dropping by!

Bundle of Joy

Hope you are having a good day, I have enjoyed my grandson Dalton today. He spent the night last night and we have played all day, he is crawling and pulling up and he is so much fun. I did sneak away and stamp a little while he napped. I was talking to a friend today while waiting for Sadie to get out of school and she told me some good news. She is pregnant with her fourth child, she has 3 beautiful girls and will find out the sex of this one very soon. I came home and pulled out my baby cards and noticed I was out of girl cards. Now, I know she wants a boy this time but I thought I had better have a girl card on hand just in case. I used the stamp set Teddy and Train and lots of pink paper and brown ink. I hope I get to give her one of the boy cards I have on hand but I know she will be happy no matter how her ultrasound turns out so long as she has a healthy baby. Good luck, Katie!

Friendship

Don't throw those little trim pieces of ribbon away! Make butterflies our of them, just tie a piece of linen thread or hemp in the middle, trim and you have a butterfly. My colors aren't very true today, the day I took the photo was very cloudy so this is the best I could get. The swirly thing that I thought kind of resembled a bush or small tree is stamped in Certainly Celery. The ribbons are Melon Mambo, Bashful Blue, and So Saffron. The paper is from the Sweet Pea collection. the stamp set is Wings of Friendship. Thanks for stopping by.

Lolipop Flower

Posted by Picasa
Just love these "lollipop flowers" made using the circles die cut. You cut all four sizes and then just layer them and attach a brad or button to the center. I also scrunched slightly for a little more dimension. I made some of the flowers into hair bows for my girls by cutting four circles in fleece and gluing them together and adding a clip. Paper is from Sweet Pea paper pad and the ribbon is old olive satin ribbon. The sentiment is from the stamp set, Well Scripted, which can be found on page 19 of the Occasions mini catalog. If you need to place an order, email me at dls8383@gmail.com. Thanks and have a great weekend.

Thinking of You

Today I have a card with another CAS and another version of a flower using the scallop circle punch. This time I used an old book to punch out my flower pieces. I punched 6 of the scalloped circles, stacked them together slightly offset, secured them with a brad in the middle, and scrunched them, and added a button to the middle. I have seen a lot of these on different blogs but kinda of got lost trying to get to the original person to give credit, not sure but it may have been Jenn Balcher.

Mr & Mrs

Good afternoon, hope you have had a good day so far. Today I have a CAS wedding card. I don't usually do a card with a whole lot of white showing but I kinda like this. A friend from church got married last week and I made her a pretty card but gave it to her without taking a picture...I hate when I do that. Short post today, I've got one at Scouts and one at basketball practice and it is time to pick them up.

For All You Do

Good Morning, we had school today!!! I think the girls were as ready to go back as I was, they miss their friends plus they hadn't got to do their Valentine parties yet so they were excited. Today I have a card using the stamp set For All you Do with Rich Razzleberry and So Saffron papers. I haven't used the In Colors very much lately, with Christmas and Valentine's Day I have used more traditional colors. So I pulled the In colors out but I needed help with color combinations so I used the Color Combo Machine (located on the left side bar) and came up with this combo. I have been wanting to try the flowers I have been seeing on some of the blogs I visit so I used Razzleberry Lemonade DP for my Scalloped Flower. I really like how this card turned out, and guess what...I did the inside!! Caren, you should be proud of me! The butterflies are made with the Beautiful Wings embosslit die from the Occasions Mini catalog. Thanks for stopping by.

Sweet Gum Ball Treat

Just a day late to post a Valentine, right? All I can say is busy weekend and hardly even remembered it was Valentine's day. Here is the treat I gave to my kindergarten Sunday School class, they loved them. I completely cased this idea from Becky Roberts. I used the gumball machine from the Stamp Set Sweet Centers and the sweet treat cups. They were quick and easy.

Happy Birthday!

Good afternoon! I am really feeling the pain...the kids have been out of school all week except for Monday and they are out again tomorrow. They are just a little bit bored so they are are picking at each other and I am constantly playing referee, I just sent them upstairs to clean their rooms and based on what I can hear they are at it again. OK enough whining...today I have a project using the Milk Carton Die and a box that holds two. This was going to be a Valentine project when I started it 2 weeks ago but I got interrupted and didn't get it finished until thins morning so I am using it for a birthday instead. The paper is Sending Love. I used a pink paperclip to hold the box shut and tied a piece of Pretty in Pink taffeta ribbon through them. The sentiment is from the Chit Chat rub-ons.

I have one ribbon share left from the Satin Ribbon if anyone is interested. Contact me at dls8383@gmail.com. It is $21.00 if you pick it up and $24 if I mail it.

Introducing Caren Blankenship

I am sooooo excited to introduce my friend Caren Blankenship as my guest stamper today!!! Caren is a nurse and works at Children's Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. She and I worked together for several years, we became friends instantly when we met. We have so much in common you would think we were related. Caren loves anything crafty and she sews, stamps, paints, and designs jewelry (all in her spare time of course). She and her husband Mike(who is a physician) have 4 grown children and 2 grandchildren. I haven't seen her is several years but we stay in touch and she usually buys my Kit of the Month and participates in my Technique Class To Go each month. I was totally surprised to get a package from her in the mail with this card, a package of soup mix from a our favorite restaurant in Birmingham, and a whole bunch of other goodies.

Okay on to the details of this lovely card, the stamp set is Happy Moments which is a Sale-a-bration set and the paper piecing on the flowers is from the Welcome Neighbor paper pad also from SAB. The card stock is Melon Mambo and Barely Banana. I was so impressed, she even did the inside of the card as well as the envelope, something I need to do more often. I'm not sure which set the sentiment came from on the inside, forgot to look that up before I sat down here to post. Again, thanks you so much Caren for the help and hope to see more of your stuff here!

Caren doesn't have a blog so I can't link you to her but you can leave her comments here, I know she would appreciate it.

It's a Boy

Getting a good photo is very hard with all the cloudy days we are having, the colors aren't exactly true but this was as close as I was able to get them with my limited editing capabilities. The main thing I want to share is the way I made the tag, this is the Medium Jewelry Tag from the Occasions mini and if you have seen it you know how tiny it is which is good for all the sentiments that come with the coordinating stamp set. I wanted to use a different sentiment so I needed to make it bigger, so I stamped my image and punched it out first with the word window punch and then punched out a tag and it fit nicely and extended the tag. I have had questions about if SU is coming out with a small or large Jewelry Tag punch and I don't know for sure but I think the medium description refers to the size of the punch in comparison to the Large Bird Punch and the Small Heart punch and not to a size of the tag. Hope you have a wonderful evening!

L is for Love

Hope you are having a good Monday! I am trying to recover from a very busy weekend, 4 basketball games and then another one tonight. I have a Valentine for you today using the Movers and Shapers heart die with a kind of gate fold. You fold your card stock and place the fold on top of the Heart with the fold in the center of the heart and run it through the Big Shot but only enough so that half of the heart is cut. Hope this makes sense, if not send me an email and I will try to explain it better. I also use the Pinking Hearts punch and Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon.

Here is a photo with the card opened. Thanks for stopping by.

The Pink Event

Good morning. Ladies, mark your calendars now for March 13...this is the date for a Cancer Awareness Brunch/Styleshow also known as THE PINK EVENT. It is being held at the SIC Foundation building on 540 N. Commercial St., Harrisburg, Illinois from 9:30-12:00. Mama T will provide entertainment as well as a fashion show by Kathleen's Bridal, Maurices, and Pee Wee shop. Local vendors will be there as well. I will have tons of Easter, Spring, and PINK items for sale. The ticket cost is $10.00 which goes to American Cancer Society. A portion of my sales will be donated as well.
OK, on to my project for today, I have a cute little basket from the Basket and Blooms die. I haven't used this die lately and since one of my New Year resolutions was to use what I have before buying more I thought I had better get with it. You have two options for the bottom of this basket, you can design it like a Dixie cup or make it flat on the bottom. I made a flat bottom on this one. I also pulled out my Daisy #2 die since I am dreaming of Spring. And then of course I had to make something PINK for today and I also used a piece of Certainly Celery Satin Ribbon. If you haven't seen this ribbon in person it is beautiful, I'll be using it a lot in the next few weeks. Thanks for stopping by!

Together Forever/Guest Stamper Needed

First off, let me apologize for this photo!!! I could not get a good photograph today probably because of the time of day I tried but I decided to go ahead and put it on here. The color should be Cameo Coral although it looks like some funky orange color. My cousin's daughter is getting married and she wanted some Favor boxes to give as a little Thank You gift to her wedding party. Her colors are coral and white so I made her 30 of the Fancy Favor bags and the card is what I sent from me. The Fancy Favor box/bag and the card uses the Bride Specialty paper.

I also wanted to say a huge Thank You to several ladies who sent me emails saying they had missed my posts lately, I haven't been ill just very busy. Basketball season is in full swing for my girls and in the month of February alone between the two of them we have 37 games(five games this Saturday and 1 on Sunday) and 28 practices not to mention Gymnastics, Girl Scouts, and church activities. My posts will be sporadic this month as time permits and for that reason I am asking that anyone interested to let me know if you would like to be a Guest stamper. I prefer that you use SU products, it doesn't have to be all SU but at least some. To get all the details and requirements, contact me at dls8383@gmail.comPosted by Picasa
