Christmas Jingle

I had forgotten how hard teething is for babies, I don't think I laid Dalton down longer than an hour yesterday so not much else accomplished. If anyone knows any tricks to help with teething, please share because I have run out! Today I am sharing a box using supplies from the Christmas Jingle Simply Scrapping set from SU. This is part of the class I am offering next month. The class will include the extra card stock, ribbon, brads, and any other embellishments used for an additional $10.00 over the cost of the kit which is 19.95 plus shipping and taxes. We will make 38 cards and 2 3-D projects. Now the good part is that you can participate in this class no matter where you live, just order your kit by October 15 and I will send you all the "extras" as well as detailed instructions on make the projects as well as post photos of all the projects here on my blog. Gotta go, baby not happy.
ps. Cindy, I did get your order for birthday favors finished and mailed. Robin, I have started your boxes and will have most of them done when I see you tomorrow. Thanks, ladies!
also, don't forget to leave a comment on the blog candy!

Serene Snowflakes

good morning! Back from my 3 mile walk this morning, perfect weather for it. Today I have a card featuring the Black and White Specialty paper and the stamp set, Serene Snowflakes, both from the Holiday mini. I really like this paper, most of the time I have a favorite side of the double sided paper but this pattern has an equally pretty back side. So...I had to make a card using the other side too.
It's funny that my friend Sharon will choose the other side for our projects for Technique class, but this time I have done it for her. Leave a comment and let me know which side you like best. Remember...if you don't have a demonstrator and would like to order Stampin' Up, visit my website http://stampthenightaway.stampinup.net/ available 24/7 or contact me. Have a wonderful day!

Halloween Luminary

Today I have a luminary made from the Fancy Favor die and the printed window sheets. These sheets come in the Night and Day Specialty Paper which can be found in the Holiday Mini. I used the wide oval punch and the 1 inch circle punch to punch the holes in the box before I put it together and then used these punches along with Lots of Tags Sizzix die and the Curly Label punch to cut out the black frames. This looks really cute with a battery candle in it, both girls want one for their rooms. I can see this becoming a Christmas project as well. I didn't come up with the original idea for this but I am not sure where I saw it and of course I made a few changes to mine.

Fall Harvest

More retired paper today, I have current Fall paper ordered which should arrive soon. The pumpkins are from a wheel, Fall Harvest, and I used a combination of SU markers and copics to color it in. The sentiment(click on photo to enlarge it) is from Teeny Tiny Wishes which is a great set to have because it has 24 sentiments that cover just about any occasion. Thanks for stopping by.

Lovely as a Tree

Good afternoon! Although it has been a rainy day today, it has still been a pleasant Fall day. We had our church picnic and the rain held off while we ate and the kids still played a little while on the playground which was good. Today I have another Christmas card, this is one that was included in my "Party from afar" for 2 of my groups. I kept it fairly simple since I needed to make 25 of them. I used Brilliant Blue paper and stamped the image with Versamark and added Heat and Stick followed by Dazzling Diamonds and IRL this is super glittery.

Tart and Tangy

Hope you are having a good weekend, mine has been great...got to see my Sadie cheer at the ballgame last night and then she had a soccer game today...what could be better. I am using some retired items today but I wanted to make a Thank You card for the teachers and this paper and stamps were perfect for what I had in mind.

Fancy Favor Christmas

While I had all the paper out from the card I made yesterday, I thought I would make this cute box to go with the card. I used the Fancy Favor die and added a handle. Don't you just love the deep embossing you get with the Petals-a-Plenty folder. The ornament punch is pretty nifty too.

Petals-a-Plenty

Good morning! Today's project features my favorite thing from the Holiday Mini, the Petals a Plenty embossing folder. I love the deep impression you get. I added a little white to the centers of the flowers with my gel pen but you could also add glitter or embossing powder for a little extra. I used the ornament punch and the Scribbles and Swirls sizzlet also. I didn't add a sentiment yet, this will be one of my workshop cards and I usually give them a choice of several different sentiments. Thanks for stopping by!

Pirate Party Kit

Have you seen the party kits from SU! They are great, so easy to assemble and so cute. Both my girls have birthday's coming up (Oct. 3 and 4) and Sadie wants to have a costume/dance party and so I ordered both the Princess Party and the Pirate Party just to see if that was what she wanted to do. She loves them both and since she is inviting boys and girls it will work out great. You can check out the Pirate Party kit on page 74-75 and the Princess Party kit on page 174 of the SU catalog. Shelby wants a skate party so I am not sure what her invitations are going to look like yet but since their birthday's are so close together I have to start planning early. I will show you the Princess Party kit tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by.

Medallion Snow Flake

I didn't get a very good picture, this is so pretty IRL. I made this from the Fluer de Lis Medallion from Spellbinders. There is a tutorial on Splitcoast. Short post today, Baby Dalton is grumpy.

Scallop Bag Santa

Wow, the past two days have been super busy. A big thank you to Jayne and Clara for the "parties from afar" . They decided to take me up on my offer to have a SU workshop even though they don't live close enough to me for me to attend. I prepped three projects and mailed them to them and they will do the projects with their guest and take the orders. They will also get the benefits of a regular party plus all the extra goodies I throw in such as a half priced item from the Holiday Mini. I mailed Jayne's yesterday and Clara's today. I have also been busy, busy making swaps for the Regional SU event in Cincinnati this weekend. I am making 100 swaps and have 75 completed, YEA!

On to my project for today, a cute Santa made from the Scallop bag die. I cut it out in white and added red panels to front and back, for the beard I added an extra scallop from a scallop punch, cut between the scallops to make it look curly and sponged the edges. The eyes and nose are punches and the hat is something I found in my stash of clearanced Christmas craft items. The belt loop is from Hodgepodge Hardware. I added a small piece of Velcro underneath the beard. The inspiration for this project came from a fellow demonstrator, RayChell Slayton, but of course I had to change it up a little.

Merry and Bright

This card was too easy, I made it using the Simply Scrappin' kit, Christmas Jingle. If you have not tried one of these kits you are in for a pleasant surprise, they are wonderful. I made six different cards yesterday and a cute box to hold them in about 30 minutes. You can easily get 40 cards by adding a little extra card stock from just one kit. They are economical as well at only $19.95. Don't forget about the special I have going on, scroll down and check it out. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

Sweet Treat

When I saw these treat cups and coordinating stamp set in the Holiday Mini I knew it was a "must have". I make treats for the girls to hand out at school for lots of different occasions so I stocked up on the treat cups which are so affordable. I hated to think the card had to be torn up to get to the treat though, so I made a pull out tag to slip in and out so the candy or other treat could be retrieved and the card still be left intact. Here is a view of the back of the card.

Delightful Decorations

I don't know why but I had a hard time photographing this card. I used the Delightful Decoration's set from the Holiday Mini. There is a punch to go along with this but I didn't get it yet. I cut these by hand which I am sure you can tell. This is almost an exact case of the card in the mini. I used Bashful Blue for the base, and So Saffron, Real Red, and Old Olive for the ornaments. The ribbon is from the Mistletoe collection. I used silver elastic cord for the ornament holders.
I thought once my kids went back to school I would have tons of time to stamp but that hasn't been the case at all. I have had Dalton almost every day and he is not happy to lie in his crib any more, he wants to be up checking out whatever is going on. Here is a rare moment in his crib this week.He is getting so big so fast, almost 14 pounds already and not 3 months old yet.
I have had him from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm everyday this week, which means he gets taken along to school in the mornings, then back to school for pick ups, to gymnastics, to girl scouts, to Daisy's, to soccer, to choir and church on Wednesdays, to the bike trail to ride scooters, and wherever else I have to go during the week. He doesn't seem to mind having two active, busy aunts to keep up with.

Make Merry

Good afternoon, I can't believe it is September already. Today I have another Christmas card to share, I kinda feel it is too early to start showing Christmas but since the Holiday Mini starts today and it has a lot of Christmas in it I went for it. The base of my card is Chocolate Chip followed by an embossed layer in Creamy Caramel, embossed with the new embossing folder, Petals a Plenty. The DP is from Christmas Cocoa Specialty paper and is flocked. The sentiment is from the stamp set Berry Christmas. Thanks for stopping by!
