A Rose is a Rose
I LOVE how this card turned out. I have seen these on a bunch of sites so not sure who came up with the idea. The flower is made with the Ornament Punch so pull it back out if you stored it away with your Christmas stuff. You can't see it in the photo but the first step I did was to spray a whole sheet of Whisper White with a mixture of Alcohol/Champagne Mist shimmer paint. After it dried, I punched a
1 3/8 circle and a whole bunch of ornaments out. I then used a pen to kind of roll the edges so they curled toward the center a little. Next bend the little tab at the top of the ornament and glue this to the circle base. The first layer had 4 and then I just started layering toward the middle until it was full. I cut out a red lattice to go behind it, you could add leaves as well. The black layer is from the Groom Specialty paper. I just realized I left the sentiment off this one, I am going to give this to my husband's niece who just go married so I used the stamp, "For the Newlyweds" from the Teeny Tiny Greetings. We did this project yesterday for Technique class so I gave my first sample to one of the ladies who wasn't able to come. This is the project my on-line technique group will be getting this month as well.
Next month starts a new series of Technique classes and I would love to have you join in. Don't worry if you don't live close enough to attend in person, I have an online group as well. This is how it works, you commit to 6 months at a time to buy a monthly minimum of $25.00(before taxes and shipping). Each month I will have 3 projects which feature a new technique, usually one 3-D project and 2 cards, you will be the hostess once during the 6 months and will get the free Hostess set and the Hostess reward. The Kit of the month that I feature sometimes does not count toward the $25.00 minimum. I will mail your kit and your order to you for an additional $2.00. Let me know if you are interested!
